All men are welcome to join us. ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR GRANTS FROM THE MEMORIAL FUND The Memorial Fund will be disbursing grant funds again in May. Applications can be submitted until May 15, Anyone attending our church may apply for a project in our church or for a mission/service/outreach project in which you are involved outside the church. The Memorial Fund Committee tries to disburse funds so that there is some equity between those funds that support our church and those which support projects outside the church. Please feel free to contact a committee member if you have a project in mind and wonder if it might fit the criteria. Applications and brochures about criteria are available in the church office. 7 Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) monitoring fires in Fort McMurray. The MDS Alberta Unit is on standby, ready to help when called upon. At this point MDS is accepting financial donations, but is unable to accept material donations, such as clothing and other goods. Upcoming Musical Events: A Benefit for Attawapiskat will be held on Tuesday, May 10 th at 7:00 p.m. at St. John s Lutheran Church, 22 Willow Street in Waterloo. The concert will feature performances by Mino Ode Kwewak N gamowak (The Good Hearted Women Singers), Inshallah, Susan Aglukark and many others. The evening will also feature a silent auction and a reception following the concert. Admission is by donation, doors open at 6:30 p.m. Please see the poster on Bulletin Board # 4 for more information. The Cambridge Male Chorus presents their annual Cabaret on Saturday, May 14 th at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, May 15 th at 3:00 p.m. at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 94 Elgin Street in Cambridge. The choir will be joined by the Hot Air Quartet along with a variety of soloists, duets and a sing-along band. Tickets are $25 Adults and $10 Children 12 and under. (Includes dessert and refreshments.) The concert will take place at St. Andrew s Presbyterian Church, 54 Queen Street North in Kitchener on Sunday, May 15 th at 3:00 p.m. Admission is by donation with all proceeds going to support the WLU Alumni Choir Voice Award at Wilfrid Laurier University. 8 Rockway Mennonite Collegiate will hold their annual Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 17 th with two concerts. Grade 7 & 8 students will perform from 6:45 7:30 p.m. and Grade 9-12 students will hold their event from 8:00 9:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Bulletin Board # 4. The Final Word is Love A Fundraising Concert for Shalom Counselling. St. Jacobs Mennonite Church invites you to a concert featuring choirs from the Mennonite Collegiate Institute in Gretna, Manitoba. Ecumenical Prayer Shawl Ministry Gathering will take place on Tuesday, May 10 th from 1:00 3:30 p.m. for all who are involved in Prayer Shawl Ministry or would like to learn about it. The United Mennonite Home in Vineland will be holding its annual delegate meeting on Saturday, June 4 th at 2:00 p.m. As in previous years, the Board of Directors is asking anyone who is interested in being on the Board of Directors or who knows of someone that would be a good candidate for the Board to put the name forward before May 15 th.
