People of all ages who are part of NLUMC (and friends) are invited to the Roma Club, 19 Seacliff Drive, East, Leamington, to purchase your own pizza and have a chance to connect with your friends the fourth Friday of the month, from June through September, continuing Friday, July 27, at 6 pm. No RSVP is needed, just show up! Sound Equipment. NLUMC has some used sound equipment available. Please contact Justin Neufeld for a complete list or to purchase an item(s). 2 When you are on holidays remember God goes with us! On a weekend get-away, a stay-cation, or an extended excursion, God goes with us! While camping, driving, sailing, flying, cruising, hiking or biking, God goes with us! This summer our church is launching our first social media campaign. Add this hashtag to your travel photos: #godgoeswithus Take a selfie photo of your family or group making the sign of a cross and share the photo on our North Leamington United Mennonite Church Facebook page. Pick up a rock to bring home (but not from a National/Provincial Park) and on Education Sunday, September 9, we will build a cairn of rocks from our collective journeys as a reminder of God s faithfulness on our journeys. Community/Conference Events... UMEI Christian High School News Join us for UMEI s 7 th annual Surf &Turf event Friday, August 10 at Mastronardi Estate Winery in Kingsville. Appetizers at 6 pm followed by dinner, silent auction and live music. Tickets are available for $125 and must be purchased by August 1. Vegetarian and other dietary meal options available upon request by August 1. Your registration includes a chip-timed event by WRACE, post-race refreshments including sausage on a bun, fruit, veggies, and drinks. Awards and door prizes to follow. Registration online at raceroster.com. Register by September 7 and receive an early bird discount and a race shirt! Leamington Mennonite Home News Host Family Needed. Our Home has been approved for an International Volunteer Worker. This worker, approved for our Home, is a speech therapist from India named Sharon Dass. She is a Christian and has been cleared by the MCC: International Volunteer Program. Sharon needs a host family who will be paid $400 per month through MCC. The Home is inviting those who are interested to consider serving as hosts to this Volunteer Worker who will be at our Home from September 19, 2018 to the end of July Please contact Linda Tiessen or Terri Epp for more information or to express interest at The Annual Home Gala for 2018 is on Saturday, October 20. Please join us for a Moonlight River Cruise with magical destinations and special cruise features. Proceeds will be designated to the purchase of resident care equipment. 2

Neighbouring Congregation Today area churches are praying for North Leamington. Let us remember all our neighbour churches in the area. Pray for Michelle & Dave Boulton, Tori and Kyra Brown who suffered a devastating house fire on Sunday night, July 8. Although their home and possessions were lost, the people and pets are safe. Anyone who wishes to assist the family is invited to make a financial donation at NLUMC by clearly marking the cheque or envelope with Boulton Brown family. All contributions will be forwarded to the family. Unfortunately, we cannot issue tax receipts for this kind of donation. Used clothing or furniture is not needed at this time. The family expresses their thanks to the church for your support. Hello friends of FEMO. Here are their prayer requests for this month for our sister churches of Canada: 1. Continue to pray for the security of our country and also for the student exams that are happening at this moment. 2. Pray for the seminar for young girls/women that will take place at the end of July, in Orodara. May our graceful God permit these young women to learn about life, from the examples of their mothers. 3. Pray for the preparation of FEMO's 10 th Anniversary, which will take place July May these moments bring renewal and thanksgiving. At this time of meeting, we anticipate input from the National church and also from the former church leaders and members of FEMO, who have contributed to the development of FEMO. They will also be learning about the health care crisis currently happening in Canada's north, and 4

5 about traditional indigenous ways of healing. Sunday, July 22 the Learning Tour is looking forward to sharing about their learning with the congregation. Pray that everyone involved in this trip will experience a sense of God's presence. Pray for God s blessing on Mandi Friesen, daughter of Marge Friesen and Aaron Friesen, and her partner who are expecting their first baby. Pray for Peter (& Marie) Epp who is slowly recovering from surgery on his broken hip. Pray for Kolin DeVries and his mom, Alex, as Kolin is experiencing ongoing challenges. The family of the late John W. Dick would like to thank everyone for their prayers, kindness and words of comfort.
