Sympathy wishes are also extended to Martha Tielmann, twin sister to Mary. The memorial service will be held here at Portage Avenue Church on Monday, August 20th at 11:00 a.m. Safe Places Training Offered on 2 Separate Dates 26th On August and September 23rd we will have our yearly Safe Places training session for all volunteers who work with children, youth, refugees or elderly. We ask everybody involved with these vulnerable people to attend one of these 2 training sessions, even if you have taken the training already in a previous year. Doing this training every year allows us to meet the requirements of our insurance company, and ensures we are doing all that we can to protect those we are ministering to, as well as our church and our volunteers. Following the worship service, take 5 minutes to grab your coffee/snack from Fellowship Cafe, and head to the end of the upstairs hallway, to Room #14, We'll begin promptly 5 minutes after the end of the worship service. Thank you! Announcement regarding Kids in the Word There will be no regular Kids in the Word program for the summer months. We will run a children s program consisting of worship music/dance and a Christian children s video instead, EXCEPT on the next long weekend Sept. 5. If this interests your children, they are invited to come. 3 Koreans from all over Manitoba are gathering August 30- September 1 here in Winnipeg for an international conference called Kosta, which dates back to Christian speakers from many different fields come from all over the world to share the gospel and love of Jesus Christ with young Korean Christians.
