1 MONTHLY NEWSLETTER FAITH COMMUNITY CHURCH CONNELLY SPRINGS, NC NOVEMBER 2018 Pastor s Ponderings... Happy Fall Church! It is that me of year! The leaves are changing, and we are gearing up for all the end of the year tradions that mean so much to us. As we enter that me, we look forward first to Thanksgiving. And for us as a church, that will mean a month of worship geared toward being thankful. A#er all, we aren t called to be thankful only on one Thursday in November! Being thankful is perhaps the default posion of a follower of Christ! The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvaon of God! ~Ps 50:23 We are all called to give thanks to God in all circumstances! Not just when things are good, but even when things aren t going so well. All too o#en, we look at gratude and thankfulness as a binary, or black and white, decision. If I get something I want, I am grateful. If I don t, I am not. But that isn t the proper viewpoint of the Chrisan! And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Col 3:15-17 Whatever you do! Whether you are failing a test, or finding love, or trying to salvage a relaonship, do it all in the name of Jesus! And not just that, but scripture tells us to give thanks to Him! PARABLES by John McArthur at the home of Pastor Kyle & Tammie Canerday, 5 PM. Ponderings continued know because I live with that fact every day! But church, if we never try if we constantly live a life that thinks thankfulness in the face of hardship is impossible then it will always be impossible! No, we must li# the veil of our hearts and minds, to allow ourselves to see Christ, even in the bad mes! And the best way to do that is to carve out some me, every single day, to tell God how grateful you are for everything in this life! Thankful for the pain that brought you to the peace. Grateful for the blessings that proved God s faithfulness. Grateful for the loss that reflected the unbelievable importance of someone in your life. Grateful for everything, because church, everything we are given is offered to us as an opportunity to Praise God! To thank Him for hope! To thank Him for breath! To thank Him for those li?le moments that, when added together, paint the perfect picture of His love, grace and provision for us all! So, this month, I pray we can all begin a new a@tude of gratude towards God. If for no other reason, really, than to start a new life with Him. One that is founded on our gratefulness for His love, mercy, and sacrifice for us all. God bless you! Pastor Jeff Welcome New Members Wayne Barrier professed his faith in Jesus Christ and became a member on Sundy, October 14th. The following Sunday, October 21st, Tim and Barbara Ball and son, Braxton Greene, also made the profession of faith and became members of FCC. These folks are a great blessing to our congrega3on!

Children s Christmas Eve Musical Our children will be presen3ng the musical drama3c worship experience STRAIGHT OUT OF BETHLEHEM on Christmas Eve.

PLEASE NOTE: We will have an extra rehearsal on Sunday, November 4th immediately following worship (lunch provided for the children). Pastor Kyle and Mrs. Jane Phillips will be leading this rehearsal.

They are just beginning rehearsals and invite all children four years and up to sing. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 6 PM. We took 2nd place last year against Burkemont Bap3st, First Bap3st Mgtn., Mt. Home Bap3st, & First Presbyterian. Let s give toward winning first place this year.
