Each year we raise significant funds for our missionaries who are supported in rota$on. Today we are suppor$ng Thomas and Claire Baertschi and their family; Thomas and Claire are missionaries serving with Mission Avia$on Fellowship in Arnhem Land Northern Territory. LADIES FRIENDSHIP GROUP The Ladies Friendship group will meet Wednesday 14th March at A.M. at Rees & Rees restaurant in Ovens St for coffee, All are welcome. March Congrega7onal Mee7ng Wednesday 21st March at & 7.30pm Its $me for our bi annual Congrega$onal Mee$ng! All are welcome! The direc$on that our church takes is decided by the congrega- $on. We especially pray for people we know who are burdened by sin - the unreached people in our local area For the prepara$on of the 2C s camps over Easter, pray for leaders, that they find the right people and enough leaders. Youth Bible Study Come along this Friday, 7.30pm- 9.30pm at church for an insighgul and fun night of bible study. Come and delve into to God s word with us! 4 Easter Choir This Easter Sunday we are hoping to have a special Easter Choir for our Sunday service. If you would be interested in joining the Easter choir we would very much like to hear from you! There will be 2 rehearsals planned:- Thursday 22nd and Wednesday 28 th March at 7pm. Please let Natalie C know if you would like to par$cipate. (). All ages welcome! Missions Bank Account We finally have a *NEW* dedicated Missions bank account. You can make direct deposits into this account. BSB: Account number: Koinonia, a Greek word, means sharing together at a deeper level for the common purpose of building, strengthening and encouraging community. Meals together are an important part of Chris$an life and community, therefore on the 3rd Sunday of every month we will share a meal together aer church. The meal will take place NEXT SUNDAY AFTER CHURCH at 12.15pm. Please bring something to share with everyone for lunch. We look forward to Koinonia-ing with you! 5 Ocean Walk for Orphans This year s walk is a bit different. A few people said to us last year that they would love to join in so we are changing it up. We are walking April 21/22, about 20 km per day along the beach/cliffs/tracks around Anglesea and we are invi$ng you to join us. Par$cipants need to pay their own expenses which we hope will be minimal, and try to raise what they can to go towards high school fees for the Tumaini children. It is a huge burden for Rose to keep the kids in high school every year so we hope to meet the need for next year. More details to follow. 6 Romans 6 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don t you know that all of us who were bap$zed into Christ Jesus were bap$zed into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through bap$sm into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrec$on like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. 11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. 15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! 16 Don t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pacern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. 18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. 19 I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limita$ons. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness. 20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at that $me from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gi of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
