1 MONTHLY NEWSLETTER OF FAITH COMMUNITY CHURCH, CONNELLY SPRINGS, NC ~ MAY 2017 Pastor Patrick s Ponderings... Currently I am taking a discipleship course that challenges me to consider Jesus Great Commission on making disciples. This is the call of every disciple of Jesus, not just for the select few. Realizing this means that one of my responsibilities, along with Kyle, Christi, and the elders, is to equip the saints to know how to faithfully make other disciples. Therefore, following the Revelation series, we will use the remaining time during the summer to focus on two subjects: missions and evangelism. First, it is necessary to have a proper, biblical understanding of God s heart for all peoples. Moreover, it is my goal to work in conjunction with the Outreach and Mission s Team to comprise two teams that have a heart for missions to plan a couple of localized mission opportunities in the coming year. These localized missions will provide an opportunity for more people to have a mission experience that is logistically easier to manage and less expensive to participate. Perhaps as you read this, God is already tugging on your heart to be a part of the leadership that will help prepare and plan localized mission projects. Second, I will also discuss the importance of evangelism. Peter exhorts, And if someone asks about your Christin hope, always be ready to explain it (1 Peter 3:15 NLT). We want you to be ready at all times to be able to share the gospel of Christ. Furthermore, we want to equip you on how to engage in spiritual conversations with people. Full balance due June 4,2017 Parents Meeting June 4, 2017 immediately after morning worship service (Medical release and permission forms to be completed, will also distribute a list of what to pack at this meeting) Sponsorship envelopes are available in the foyer for anyone who would like to contribute to a student going to Journey Camp this summer. We want to make sure every student has the opportunity go to Journey Camp regardless of finances. A full sponsorship would be $125, however sponsorships can be made in any amount. VBS Volunteers Meeting Sunday, May 21st Faith Student Ministries VBS 2017 Passport to Peru July 27-29, 2017 If you plan to be involved in VBS this summer please plan to attend a short meeting after worship service on May 21, We need Crew Leaders, Station Leaders, Craft Leaders, Game Leaders and Decoration Leaders. Descriptions of these positions will be available at the meeting. There will be a short video presentation to give us an idea of what Passport to Peru will look like. We will discuss the overview of the plan for each VBS session as well as make plans for future planning and workshop sessions. Look forward to seeing you all there!

Thank you for your faithful service. Welcome to the Family On Easter Sunday, April 16th Jordan Reeves confirmed her profession of faith in Jesus as her Savior and became a member of FCC. She is pictured at left with her son, Connor, age 5. Jordan is a stay at home mom, who is pursing continued education. Welcome Jordan and Connor to the FAITH family! Dylan and Amber Anderson presented JOLEIGH MADISON to the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 16th. They pledged with the help of family and the family at FAITH to nurture her in the LORD. Welcome to the FAITH family! Band of Brothers Fund Raiser The Band of Brothers is selling raffle tickets for a Henry Golden Boy Burke County Edition 22 Long Rifle! Tickets are $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00 Drawing for this rifle will be held on Monday, June 26th! Members of FCC, after much thought I realized there was no was I could express in this thank you note how much I really appreciated all the ways you expressed that you cared. The meals that some of your prepared for Carl and me, cards that were sent, the prayers that were uttered, and our caring Pastor and Associate Pastor, all of this makes my heart glad and thankful. Love to all of you, Paul Metcalf. I want to thank you all for all you do for us in these hard times. But most of all thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers. Lastly, because we are called to make disciples, it will be imperative to teach you how to come alongside those you lead to the Lord so they continue to grow and mature in the Him. I am excited about this upcoming series because I know God desires to use you to reach other sheep that are not of his fold yet (John 10:16). Moreover, it will spur us to view everyday life as a mission field. The harvest is always plentiful; perhaps through this series we add a few more workers to the field (Matthew 9:37).
