Signups are available now in the church narthex or online at Helpers are needed to be crew leaders, station helpers, and snack helpers. A preschool games leader is also needed. Mission Memo Pray for Church Workers around the World You are invited to come to Mission Central (LCMS home of Gary Thies) on Saturday, June 2. (see information for bus trip elsewhere in Focus) Presenting will be Rev. Steven and Cynthia Schumacher. They are career missionaries in Ghana, West Africa. Rev. Schumacher teaches courses in Lutheran theology and serves as the dean of academics and student activities at the seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana. He also assists with deaf ministry efforts. Cynthia assists as an English as a Foreign Language teacher at their seminary. Other missionaries presenting will be Rev. Jonathan and Anita Clausing (serving in Kenya East Africa) and Rev. Ryan and Emily McDermott (serving the Lord in West and Central Africa). Outstanding presenters, entertainment and servant events are planned. Convention registration deadline is June 1st. ** THE CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES are coming to Nebraska North District LWML Convention Bring your friends bring your family Entertainment at District Convention is Friday, June 22. It will feature the musical comedy titled The Church Basement Ladies. The musical is inspired by the humorous book Growing Up Lutheran, by Janet Letnes Martin and Susan Nelson, and is set it the 1950 s. All are welcome to this special event. A freewill offering will be taken at the door, with all proceeds going towards the Mites Goal. If you are not registered for the convention, but would like to join us for supper and / or the entertainment, the cost is $9.95 for a meal. No cost for the entertainment. Supper will be served at 6:00 p.m. and the entertainment will begin at 7:00 p.m. Reservations will be taken by LaDonna Stanosheck. Supper reservations must be made no later than June 1. Greeters to welcome people to Sunday School from 9:15-9:35. ** MISSION OFFERING: Remember to leave your mite boxes in the offering basket at Sunday School or the offering plate at church when you are finished with them. You can also empty them and take them back home to refill them. These mites will help with many mission projects across the country. Learn more about these projects at Sunday school openings, or on the children s ministry page of the church website. ** SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL: This year, we are trying something new Similar to this year s confirmation class, our classes will be intergenerational and will meet as a large group and then have small group activities. Starting June 3, all ages will meet in the church fellowship hall from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Parents are encouraged to come along with their children whenever they can. The class will be led by our pastors and other church staff. Questions can be directed to Pastor Winter or Lisa Moreno. CAMP LUTHER ** CAMP LUTHER WEEKEND - June Free Event We'll have camp activities available including archery, canoeing, swimming, and hiking, as well as special activities including bounce houses, a petting zoo, minnow races, Bingo, a silent auction, and rides in our giant red wagon. Come for the day, or call ahead to stay overnight for free Outdoor worship is at 10 a.m. on Sunday, followed by our annual luncheon (free will donation).
