Christ is risen, He is risen indeed! ** FLOWERS The side arrangement of flowers on the altar today is given to the Glory of God by Jerome and Jean Woockman in thanksgiving for 60 years of marriage blessings. ** FUNERAL Dolores Deitloff was called to her Savior s side on April 14, A Celebration of Life and Christian burial was held on Thursday, April 17. ** BENEFIT DINNER FOR JONATHAN GLASER A spaghetti dinner will be held on Friday, April 25 from 5:30-7:30 at Christ Lutheran School to help the Glaser family with expenses incurred during Jonathan's recent hospitalization and treatment. Purchase tickets in advance at the church or school office, or at the door. A bake sale will also be held this night. 2 DID YOU KNOW At the direction of the congregation, the Site Planning Committee has been working on a plan to replace and update the sanctuary s sound system. During Holy Week the congregation has had the opportunity to make use of demo speakers and sound equipment from Inspirmedia. Hopefully this test drive of a new sound system has given worshipers the opportunity to evaluate the sound quality provided by these specific speakers and sound equipment. Sharon writes: "It is a great joy to stand back and reflect on how God is using the home fellowship for His glory. Sometimes there are just 6 or 8 of us and other nights there are 18 to 20 people. Throughout the last months I have watched 2 people who were inactive members of the Lutheran Church in Macau renew their faith and regularly attend weekly worship again. It's a great joy to hear their stories about how the Holy Spirit is growing their faith and teaching them more about God's love for them. Pray that the flame will continue to burn bright in them and that they can be a light to the people walking in darkness." The ad will appear in the Saturday, May 10 edition, the night before Mother s Day. Included in this ad will be the names of families that support our belief that every child is a gift from God. We invite you to be part of this special event by having your name(s) appear in the ad. Signatures will be gathered for this ad before and after services on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings until May 1. Norfolk Area Right to Life is asking for a donation of $10 per line or $15 per family to help defray the cost of the ad. Please join us by signing a permission sheet to have your name appear in the Mother s Day ad and honor your mother for the precious gift of life.

John 15:13 ** SUPPORT FOR CAMPERS NEEDED: Each year our congregation has been giving several Camp Luther scholarships to selected fifth grade students in our day school (4) and in our public school confirmation program (2). These are not budgeted items and several individuals and church organizations have supported them in the past. We give thanks and praise to God for this generous support. This year we are once again giving six of these scholarships away to student and are in need of your support. The cost for each Mini Explorer camp participant is $265. This provides the camper with 3 full days and 3 full nights of camping and Christian learning experiences. The total needed to support these students is $1,590. Wait no longer! Waiting lists have been started at Christ Lutheran for the morning 5 day and 3 day classes but there are several openings in the afternoon classes. The 2 day class also has openings available. The Tuesday/Thursday and the Monday/Wednesday/Friday programs are offered to children who are 3 or 4 by July 31. The Monday-Friday program is reserved for children who are 4 by July 31. Our preschool teachers have over 30 years of experience and are certified by the Nebraska Department of Education. Sidewalk Snow Removal For Next Winter The Trustees will be accepting bids on the Christ Lutheran Campus Sidewalk Snow Removal for the winter season. The Bids can be made one or more of the following ways: Bid by the hour using Christ Lutheran s Snow Blower Bid by the hour using your own equipment Bid by the amount of snowfall received (Example 1, 2-3, etc.) Sidewalks at Helping Hands Child Care need to be clean by 6 a.m. in the morning. Sidewalks at the School s 2 main entrances need to be done by 7:30 a.m. The other sidewalks around the school need to be done by 9:30 a.m. The East entrance of the Church also needs to be done by 7:30 a.m. All of the other Church entrances and sidewalks would need to be done by Noon. This schedule would vary if there was a late start or a funeral.
