1 Altar Guild Susan Craven All women of Immanuel are eligible and encouraged to be members of the Altar Guild. Members are responsible for setting up the communion bread and wine for each service. The communion ware and linens are kept clean. Candles are checked for enough oil. Paraments are changed according to the Season or Sunday. Each month 3 women serve at one of the 4 weekend services. Normally, students begin Confirmation class in the 6th grade and are confirmed in their 7th grade year. If you sing or play an instrument (guitar, piano, drums, etc.) give Mike a call. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00. 2 Facility Support Festival Choir (Adult) Anna Brandt Volunteers of skilled tradesmen who would volunteer their time or give us a reduced rate for electrical, plumbing, carpentry or painting work are greatly appreciated. The choir will be preparing a variety of choral music from the great composers to the modern choral works. Practice is on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:30. Performances are on select Saturdays and Sundays and festival days. Funeral Circle Karen Williams bkwilliams@gmail.com When a member of the congregation passes away the circle will serve a lunch, provided by family and friends, following the funeral service. Funeral Ushers Ray Ungemach UNGEMACH9@aol.com When a member of the congregation passes away the funeral ushers help assist during the visitation (if at the church) and the funeral. Greeters Becky Stille bcstille@centurytel.net Two greeters are needed each of the 4 weekend services - Saturday 5:00, Sunday 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 plus all special services. Duties include handing out the Pulse and greeting and directing visitors. Serving duties are usually once a month. 3 Lutherans For Life Molissa Harms Each Lutheran Church in the St. Charles area has a life contact representative. The primary focus of the chapter is education on the sanctity of life from natural conception to natural death. Being a part of the St. Charles County Lutherans for Life is a great way to be informed on Life issues. Mary Martha Thrift Shop Joann Palmer jpalmer@centurylink.net The Mary-Martha Thrift Shop is a not-for-profit Christian endeavor sponsored by churches in the Wentzville area. Immanuel is one of eight churches that provides volunteer services for 1 week at a time. The week involves accepting and sorting clothing, small household items and décor and children's toys and games. Proceeds from sales are distributed by the Thrift Shop Board to the churches involved and other local charities. Volunteering involves a 3 1/2 hour shift during the week. Times and dates are announced in the Pulse. Meal Dana Demien or church@ilcsw.net When we are contacted about a need, we will activate the other members of the team on a rotating basis. This meal team will be available to help coordinate meals for an individual, a family or as we did last year, hundreds of meals for Officers dealing with the Ferguson crisis. New Member Jerry Beck jbeck1946@hotmail.com This team comes into action at every new member class. New member sponsors are assigned and this team coordinates the new member luncheon. Nursery Melissa Charter melissa.m.charter@gmail.com We encourage children of all ages to worship at our services. If needed an unstaffed cry room is available for parents and their children. Each member receives a mite box to prayerfully collect money for mission project grants in the Missouri and National mission fields. Mites are gathered at monthly meetings in a worshipful setting and dedicated to the work of the Lord. All women of the congregation are invited to attend meetings on the 1st Thursday of the month from September thru June. We have a wonderful fellowship with spiritual growth to serve the Lord with gladness. Projects include:quilt tying, Christmas Bazaar in November, Prayer Day and salad supper and Mother- Daughter Banquet in May. Check the Pulse for meeting times.
