5 THE GREAT THANKSGIVING is a meal prayer. Eucharist is the Greek word for thanksgiving. Before we come forward to eat as a congregation and family of God, we give thanks to God. THE GREAT THANKSGIVING PREFACE It is indeed right, our duty and our joy......we praise your name and join their unending hymn: SANCTUS WORDS OF INSTITUTION THE LORD S PRAYER is the prayer that Jesus taught the disciples to pray found in Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4. THE LORD'S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Help wanted Volunteer Receptionist: We are accepting applications for persons to volunteer as a receptionist in the main office 1-2 days per week. Hours are flexible. You will greet those who enter the office, answer phones, and potentially do light office work. During less busy times you can read, check , or use your phone. Applications are available in the office or at the Welcome Center. Colorado Gives Day: This annual statewide movement celebrates and increases philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. The $1 million Incentive Fund created by the partners is one of the largest gives-day incentive funds in the U.S. When: 24 hours starting at midnight on Tuesday, December 5. LOOKING AHEAD A Colorado Chorale Christmas: Friday, December 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Superb Christmas music, a singalong, and Santa Claus will spark the spirit of the season when the Colorado Chorale returns to Bethany for the Chorale s most popular concert. This year, Artistic Director Emeritus Dan Grace will take a turn at the podium as a special guest. Mark your calendars and bring the family. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and group discounts are available. Those 21 and under are free. Purchase tickets online at or at the door. The Advent Festival and Chili Cook-off will be on Saturday, December 2 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. We will begin in the Chapel with a brief Hanging of the Greens celebration, followed by crafts (create a nativity scene, tree ornaments, etc.), decorate a box for the Reverse Advent Calendar service project, decorate cookies, help make the children s bags for Christmas Eve, eat great chili and soups and have fun! Christmas Shopping for BECC: BECC will have additional gift cards available during the month of December. Holy Hammers and Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver are looking for Bethany construction volunteers to build homes at the Sheridan Square site on December 9. Join us as we go caroling to Bethany members on Saturday, December 9.
