Lord, open our hands, that we may reach out to all who are in need; Lord, open our hearts, that we may love each other as you love us. Walk of Witness on Good Friday The Walk of Witness will be taking place this Friday please be in Our Lady of the Wayside Roman Catholic Church by 10.30am to begin the walk. St Patrick s Day Coffee Morning Thanks to all who supported in any way, but most of all, to Jim and Jean Brown for hosting the event. It was a very enjoyable morning and the money raised was over 250, well done. Narthex and Food Bank Soups and tinned vegetables would be most appreciated this week. URGENT NEED has just come in for ladies clothes, size 8; new pants and socks plus T shirts, jumpers and trousers in good condition. They are for a mother and two teenage daughters who ve fled from abuse. The Answered Prayer Wall On Sunday 4 th March, Richard Gamble and Helen Roxborough came to our service bringing some very exciting news about an Answered Prayer Wall that is being built in Solihull. Please see their message below: Please could you encourage your parishioners to send us their answered prayers - they can them direct to me if it's easier for them! For each prayer that we receive we will them a brick certificate that gives them the number of the brick that their prayer relates to. Once the structure is built we will be able 2

3 to everyone again and let them know exactly where their prayer is in The Wall. Tickets are on Sale for the Floristry Demonstration We are very lucky to have Sherrie Phelps coming on Friday 27 th April at 7.30pm here in church to give us a floristry demonstration the theme is Royal Wedding which seems very appropriate. Sherrie is very well known amongst floristry circles so this is really going to be a treat for us all. I must admit I have always wanted to learn how to make my flower arrangements more pleasing to the eye. So I shall certainly be purchasing my ticket, please see either Jean Brown or Marion Legge in order to purchase your tickets please do spread the word and let your friends and families know the more tickets we sell the better our finances are. Brain Tumour Research Challenge 2pm Today Our young church members, Siena (Age 7) and Rafi (Age 5) have challenged themselves to run a mile to raise money and increase awareness of Brain Cancer. They have enlisted the help of some wonderfully supportive pals who are going to run with them. They set a modest target of 50 which has now already been exceeded! Can you add to their total? Philippians 2: 5-11 Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, 7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form, 8 he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 7 Post Communion Prayer Lord Jesus Christ, you humbled yourself in taking the form of a servant, and in obedience died on the cross for our salvation: give us the mind to follow you and to proclaim you as Lord and King, to the glory of God the Father.
