Anyone interested in learning more about what it means to become a Catholic Christian, should contact the parish office. Baptism The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated at scheduled Liturgies. Parishioners who are expecting a child should contact the office at least two months in advance, or as soon as possible to make arrangements and meet with the Baptismal Preparation Team. Reconciliation Also known as penance or confession, the Sacrament of Penance is regularly available every Saturday at 3:30pm in the church. Individual appointments may also be made with one of the priests. The Sacrament of Penance is celebrated communally during the seasons of Advent and Lent. Marriage Engaged parishioners who are interested in being married at St. Timothy Parish must contact one of the priests at least six months in advance. Call the office regarding Marriage Preparation classes. Sacrament of the Sick Praying for healing in body, mind and soul has always been a part of the Church s ministry to those who are ill. Anyone who is seriously ill or anticipating hospitalization, may celebrate the Sacrament on Saturdays following the 9am Mass, or upon request. Devotion/Prayer Groups Rosary is said Monday through Saturday prior to morning Mass. Guild of St. Timothy Please refer to the bulletin for meetings. Women s Bible Study Tuesday evenings at 7pm; Thursday mornings at 9:30am New Jerusalem Charismatic Prayer Group meets on Thursday from 7:30-9pm. All are welcome!

Peer Ministry Program Beginning next fall, we are looking for students who have been Confirmed (grades 11 and 12) to take part in our new Peer Ministry program! These students will have the option to participate in our YFM and religious education programs as teaching assistants, small group facilitators, retreat leaders, on service trips, and in various liturgical ministries. There is a short application which all interested students must complete and submit to the YFM Office by May 1 st. Applications are available by contacting the YFM Office. Please consider joining this program and giving back to the life of your parish community! Mission Trip Fundraising This summer 16 students will be traveling to Mingo County, West Virginia where they will serve the population there by completing small building and repair projects or by volunteering at a week long summer camp for area children. In an effort to help subsidize the cost of this trip, we will be hosting 2 fundraising efforts and we invite the community to take part in these! 50/50 Raffle-Saturday and Sunday, April 27 th and 28 th after all regularly scheduled masses. PARISH NURSE NEWS Children's Hospital Blood Drive Rescheduled! On SATURDAY, MAY 4th, the Health Ministry will be hosting a Blood Drive to benefit Boston Children's Hospital. The bloodmobile will be in the church parking lot from 9am until 3pm. There are 3 ways to schedule an appointment to donate: o Log onto (Sponsor code is STC NORW) o Call the Parish Nurse Office, , ext. 34. o Sign-up in person after Mass on April 27th and April 28th. When scheduling an appointment please keep in mind that children are not permitted on the Bloodmobile. Thank you! A Message From Our Pastor Dear friends- As I write these words, it is the day after the horrific bombing incident at the Boston Marathon. The pictures and stories of those who died and those who were injured are truly heart breaking. As I was celebrating Mass this morning, I was mentioning to the congregation that two thoughts had crossed my mind while thinking about these events. My first thought was how our lives can be changed in an instant. I m sure that as the victims of this attack set out to enjoy the holiday, they never thought that this would be the last day of their lives or that their lives would be changed forever by this terrorist act. Sometimes when I listen to the words of remembrance at funerals, I hope that the person giving those words might mention that faith was at the core of the deceased person s life. Monday s tragedy reminds us as the Gospel says that we know not the day or the hour when our lives on this earth might end. Perhaps it is good advice to live each day as if it were our last. My other thought was a reminder that evil does indeed exist in our world. When I saw the photo of the 8 year old boy who died, I find it so hard to understand how someone could do such an evil deed to so many innocent people like that 8 year old. On Monday we in Boston saw the face of evil close up sadly, all sorts of evil things occur in our world each day. We live in a very imperfect world. There is a lot of goodness in the world, but sadly a great deal of evil and injustice. As we celebrate this Easter season, we pray that our lives might be filled with good deeds; that those who do evil might turn from their wicked ways; and that even in the face of tragedy and evil, we might truly believe the central message of this season, that good ultimately does triumph over evil because the power of God and the reality of Christ s Resurrection confirms that hope in us. 5 Service Saturdays As our Anniversary year nears an end, our commitment to our neighbors is a great way to mark the many years and volunteers that have come before us. Spring cleaning tasks are difficult for our senior citizen neighbors. Please consider committing one Saturday to helping a local resident clean up their yard for the spring. Contact the office and leave your name, phone number, and the Saturday you request. You will be contacted about where to go! Walk for Hunger Project Bread s 45th Walk for Hunger is on Sunday, May 5th! Join us and raise funds to support a network of local and sustainable solutions for hungry people. Walk with us and be part of a fresh approach to ending hunger. Pledge with us that the opposite of hungry isn t full, it s healthy. Catholic Home Missions Appeal One way the Catholic Home Missions Appeal works to support home mission dioceses in the United States is by supporting seminarian formation in poor dioceses. Often home mission priests and lay ministers require special training to attend to the unique needs of their faith communities. Your support is needed. Miramar Retreat Center s Miles for Miramar Campaign You can receive health and spiritual benefits when you support Miramar Retreat Center in Duxbury s Fifth Annual Miles for Miramar campaign from April 1 through June 30. The theme for our second Youth Rally is Into the Deep (Luke 5:4). During this Year of Faith we must look deep within the depths of our Catholic faith to truly understand how we should live out our true faith in Christ. The keynote address and workshops will be centered on going deeper into our faith. Looking into how we can grow in truth and to overcome the challenges we face in our culture, we can come to know the love and peace of Christ in our hearts. Summer Program at the College of Saint Mary Magdalen Once again, the College of Saint Mary Magdalen in Warner, NH is pleased to announce the dates for its Summer Program for high school students. The Collegiate Summer Program offers participants the opportunity to study theology, philosophy, literature and political science. During the summer program, students also attend daily Mass and enjoy sports, socials and day trips including hiking and canoeing.
