Call to Worship Leaders: God alone laid the foundations of the earth. People: The morning stars sang together and all the heavenly beings shouted for joy. Leader: From the midst of the whirlwind, God speaks with power. People: We have seen the deeds of the Lord, who commands and raises the stormy wind and also makes the storm be still. We ourselves have seen the wondrous deeds of the Lord! Leader: Let us worship God. Introit This Is the Day the Lord Hath Made Chancel Choir Prayer of Adoration Rev. Karen Wismer Almighty and loving God, in this moment we open ourselves up to you as best we know how, and we do it humbly and imperfectly, but expectantly. O God, through your Holy Spirit, we ask for eyes to really see, ears to really hear and hearts to begin to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge. Please guide us in this time together. Amen

2 Children and Worship We value children and welcome all ages into the life of the church. We believe that children are gifts from God and are vital to our family of faith. Children s worship packets are available on the table as you enter the sanctuary. These packets include activities directly related to the theme of the day. If you cannot locate a packet, please ask an usher. During the worship service we invite children and youth to come forward for the Children s Moments. Children may come forward or not; we celebrate their choice. Children learn to be disciples by participating in a loving and caring community of faith. We provide a unique age appropriate children s worship with education time immediately following the Children s Moments. Children are led to Children s Church which is located in room 107. Children K - 5 th grades are welcome to attend. We encourage parents to come visit the children s worship room. A nursery is available for children, birth to kindergarten. It is located on the elevator side first floor in rooms 109 and 111. The nursery staff is employed by Pine Shores. If your child becomes uncomfortable in worship, there is a live feed in the narthex with both sound and video. All: Thanks be to God Call to Confession Leader: Let us bring once more our prayers of confession, asking God to remove from us all deceit and unfaithfulness. Let us pray. Prayer of Confession All: Saving God, we confess that our faith is too small and our fear is too great. When we are overwhelmed, we think you do not care enough for us. When life is uncertain and risky, we are not sure we can trust you with our whole hearts. Even when you move among us in powerful ways, we question who you are. Forgive us and calm our fears, we pray. Teach us to trust in your power to save and guide us in every circumstance. Grant us your peace, which is clearly beyond our understanding. Amen ª Affirmation of Faith We believe in God who created us and sent Jesus to live among us, whose Spirit empowers us to remove barriers, tear down walls and heal divisions. Filled with that Spirit we are able to see our sister s good as our own, to be our brother s advocate, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. And we believe the mission of our church is to encourage, equip and empower each other to serve the needs of a hurting and broken world by sharing the hope and joy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed.

Collecting for CHP: Pine Shores continues to collect boxes of granola bars (no nuts) for Children s Healthy Pantry (CHP). Collection bins are available at both Sunday services and in the Church Office during the week. These snacks are distributed to children in Title I schools who need additional nutrition during the day so they can concentrate on their school work rather than the hunger in their stomach. Monday Morning Meditation is a weekly meditation offering for those seeking a quiet space for reflection and prayer. Please come and join our group at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary House with Rev. Dr. Kathleen Weller. Pine Shores Youth Summer Camps: The (PSY) Middle School trip to Cedarkirk Challenge-2-Change runs July 8th - July 13th. 6 Adventure Camp at Pine Shores continues through July! Campers (ages 4-11) are enjoying their summer exploring all the ways they can change their world. Come and be a part of our enthusiastic discovery of kids who made a difference in part of the world and the hidden treasures that you possess to do the same. Computers, cooking, crafts, games, movies, reading, science, field trips including Busch Gardens, a chartered cruise on the Sarasota Bay Explorer, Florida Studio Theatre, Wonderworks, Vertical Ventures, Carla s Clay, All Faiths Food Bank and so much more will fill our days. You may register and pay at Week 4 (June 25-29) brings us a children s book author and illustreator who will help us write & illustrate our own stories just as Adora Svitak did beginning at age 7. Week 5 (July 9-13) includes the story of Ryan Hreljac who, at age 6, used money he earned from household chores and funds he raised from speaking publicly at different events about Africa s clean water issues, funded the construction of his first well in a Northern Uganda village. Week 6 (July 16-20) will be devoted to Malala Yousafzai. She was 11 when she started writing a blog detailing what life was like and sharing her views on education for girls in Pakistan. Week 7 (July 23-27) brings us the story of Katie Stagliano from Summerville, SC. Katie was 8 when she grew a forty-pound cabbage in her backyard and donated it to help feed 275 people at a local soup kitchen. Week 8 (July 30-August 4) introduces Dylan Mahalingam, age 8, who formed non-profit named Lil MDGs which now serves 3 million kids in 41 countries. Dylan built orphanage in Tibet. As the children hear these stories, we are hoping to inspire them to make a difference in their part of the world. You should hear their ideas! Call Debby for more information ( )
