2 Children and Worship We value children and welcome all ages into the life of the church. We believe that children are gifts from God and are vital to our family of faith. Children s worship packets are available on the table as you enter the sanctuary. These packets include activities directly related to the theme of the day. If you cannot locate a packet, please ask an usher. During the worship service we invite children to come forward for the Children s Moments. Children may come forward or not; we celebrate their choice. Children learn to be disciples by participating in a loving and caring community of faith. The first Sunday of every month, the whole congregation celebrates communion together. On other Sundays, we provide a unique age appropriate children s worship and education time immediately following the Children s Moments during the worship service. Children, K 5 th grade are welcome to attend Children s Church located in room 107. A nursery is available for children birth to kindergarten. It is located on the elevator side first floor in rooms 109 and 111. The nursery staff is employed by Pine Shores. If your child becomes uncomfortable in worship there is a live feed in the narthex with both sound and video. Call to Confession Leader: God s great gift of love was greeted by shepherds and sages, coming from rough places and foreign lands. Earth s people are drawn to the birthplace of God s chosen One, sent to a weary world to make us one. Let us pray to God for forgiveness and mercy. Prayer of Confession All: God of love, you watch in sorrow as nation rises up against nation, as brothers and sisters live in strife. Forgive us for tolerating injustice. Forgive us for the fear that leads to hate. Forgive us when we fail to lead the way to peace. Guide us by your light to the dawn of Christ s reign of peace, where strangers bearing gifts meet to worship Christ our Lord. In Christ s name we pray. Silent Prayers of Confession Assurance of Pardon Leader: God who is faithful will hear and forgive us. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Licht teilen Three New Adult Education Opportunities Sunday Morning Bible Study - 8:45 a.m. 9:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary. The Pastors will lead this study based on the Book of Acts The Early Church Sharing the Light. Each session is a separate study. You are encouraged to attend one, some, many or all of the sessions. In preparation for next week, please read Acts Chapter 1. Want: A Perfect GPS - An Adult Sunday Morning class begins at 11:00 a.m. on January 13th and continues through February. The Class will use the book Which Way, Lord? to explore how God used Paul. We will see how Paul s purpose and direction changed throughout his life as it does for ours also. This is an outstanding model of finding God s direction and books are available at the church office. Kerygma Bible Study on the Gospel of Luke begins on Wednesday, January 23rd. Come join us on Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:00 a.m. We will gather in the Council Room of the Administration Building. Those attending will need to set aside 2 hours of preparation per week. Participants will also need to purchase a study book at $22. The Kerygma study will be taught by the Rev. Karen Wismer.

5 Gratefulness Gathering - Monday evening, January 7th at 7:00 p.m. will be our first Gratefulness Gathering in the Peace River Spirituality Center located in the Youth House, just off the Paved parking lot accessed from Crestwood. In-Betweeners are planning a day trip, January 19th, to Solomon s Castle, located in Ona, Florida. 20 participants are required for a package tour through Howard Solomon s home & Galleries at $12.50/person: A second gallery showcasing pieces from the last 7 years of Howard s life work is an additional $ Transportation will be provided for those needing it.
