Our very human nature can make even the most devout person make dire errors. Even with the best intentions we find ourselves breaking the laws you gave us and with each mistake we find ourselves falling deeper and deeper into despair as our anger, greed, gluttony, lust, envy, apathy and pride get the best of us. But God please allow us to realize our fallibility. Allow us to realize that even though working on limiting sin is important, ultimately we will all have times in which we mess up. God please help us to admit our mistakes to you and ourselves. Please let us realize that no sin is too great for your infinite mercy and that even the lowliest sinner can be forgiven with your grace. Ms. Menges performs regularly throughout Northeast Ohio. In concert she has been featured in such works as Mendelssohn s Elijah and Haydn s Creation, Mozart s Exsultate Jubilate, Vaughan Williams Serenade to Music, Mozart s Requiem for PAND (Performers and Artists for Nuclear Disarmament), and Joseph Canteloube s Chants d Auvergne with the Heights Chamber Orchestra. She has performed with Choral Arts Cleveland including Beethoven s Choral Fantasy at Severance Hall with the Suburban Symphony and Hodie by Vaughan Williams. In recital Diane has sung on Music & Fine Arts Series in Fairview, Akron, Kent State (Stark Campus), and various churches throughout Greater Cleveland. She has performed with the Cleveland Flute Ensemble, for the Cecilia Club, Shaker Heights Arts Council s Aha!(At Home with the Arts!) Concert Series, and has been featured on programs for the Cleveland Classical Guitar Society. Diane began performing with pianist Lisa Bell Benedetto in We welcome Jennifer McPherson back to Covenant. She is guest organist through Sunday, August 9 while Dr. Moyer is away on vacation. Ms. McPherson graduated from Oberlin Conservatory with a Master of Music in Historical Performance. She studied organ with Jonathan Moyer and harpsichord with Webb Wiggins. She completed her undergraduate studies as Organ Scholar at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, studying with James David Christie. She was awarded Third Prize in the International Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck Organ Competition, Amsterdam; First Prize in the AGO Quimby Region I competition, Hartford; was featured as a Rising Star soloist at the National AGO Convention, Boston; and performed alongside other Oberlin musicians at the John F. Kennedy Center, Washington. THE FLOWERS IN THE CHANCEL URN are given to the glory of God and in thanksgiving for our youth mission participants and their adult leaders.

6 THE LAY WORSHIP LEADER is Collin Denbow. Collin is a lifetime Covenant youth and member and has enjoyed 19 years of the church's love and support in all his endeavors. Collin is currently a sophomore at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey where he is studying history, political science and classical studies. In his free time he is an officer of history club, a member of honors council, sings in the school choir and goes camping. Collin would like to thank everyone for showing up this Sunday and for all their support throughout the years. DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS, children and youth will participate in a Summer of Growing, with the garden as their classroom, weather permitting. Experienced gardeners from our congregation, along with parents, will be their guides. The crèche for infants through pre-kindergarten age children is open from 9:30am through 12:00pm unless otherwise noted.
