2 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time October 29, 2017 Date & Time Location Intention You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. - Matthew 22:37 Do you put other gods before God? Is your love of money, power, status or some personal possession greater than your love for God? Do you really recognize that everything you have and everything you are is a gift from God? The good news it s not too late to put God first in your life in all things. From the Pastor ALL SAINTS Wednesday of this week we celebrate the feast of All Saints, a holy day of obligation where all Catholics are obligated to attend Mass. This feast celebrates all those who have entered heaven, including saints who are formally recognized by the Church (canonized) and those whose sainthood is known only to God. We are challenged to remember that all of us are called to holiness we are all called to be saints. All Souls Day (November 2nd) commemorates the faithful departed who have not yet reached the perfection of heaven. These feasts remind us that there is a prayerful spiritual communion between those in heaven and those who are being purified in purgatory. MAKING DISCIPLES OF CHRIST Our appeal is still going strong, and I m counting on all of you to respond with your prayers and new gift of treasure. I ask that you continue your commitment going forward. Your new gift will continue to support the core ministries of our parish, as well as promoting everyday stewardship. Thank you to all who have responded to our appeal so far. ADULT STUDY This past Friday we began our adult study program Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible. The first session of our parallel track will be this Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. at St. Mary s in the Social Hall. There are still a few books available, so if you would like to take part in this program, please contact Brenda at or blenertz@newulmtel.net. THE BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE will be available during the month of November for you to include the names of deceased loved ones from any time and place. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. ORGAN DEDICATION There will be an organ dedication recital for the new refurbished organ at St. Mary s next Sunday, November 5th, at 2:00 P.M.
