2 Crusaders Serve Others National Honor Society President Travis Prochko reports that the club has had a busy month: most recently, the group worked on King s Fair with Mr. Chude and spent time at Haven for Hope. Some of our NHS volunteers with their club sponsor, Mr. White: Paula Domit, Lorenzo dela Cruz, Isabelle Christianson, Emilynn Banks, and Kayleigh Tuholsky. Working with deep love for our brothers and sisters in Christ creates great smiles on those who serve! At the shelter, the student volunteers and Mr. White prepared sandwiches, packed lunches, and served lunches to the guests. In addition to preparing the food, they also cleaned up the kitchen afterwards. FALL BREAK BASKETBALL CAMP See details in previous issues of this newsletter for our first Fall Break Basketball Camp. Limited spots available. Four More Golds! 4th Grade Sean Brosnan, Kanon Flojo, Napoleon Puente Molina, and Michael Roberson all made the Gold Arrow Honor Roll first quarter, but gradebook problems kept them in the Silver category during the Awards Ceremony. Error solved and the boys received their awards from Senior Administrator Sister Mary Margaret this week!

3 SATURDAY AFTERNOON TAILGATE The Booster Club invites your family to come spend the afternoon at the Crusader Athletic Field To cheer on the Varsity Football Team at their last home game of the season! We will be honoring the senior football players prior to the game. We will also recognize the Senior Cross Country runners and 8 th grade Cross Country runners at halftime. Come out for some great food, games, prizes & music When: Saturday November 5th Time: 1:00PM with 4:00PM Prizes will be given out between quarters. ABOUT THE PARISH New Building Update The construction workers are busy at their tasks, with welding going on at one end of the building and scaffolding being put in place at the other. The stone masons are making their way across the front, and I can hear all sorts of things going on inside the building. The most frequent question I get is, When will it be finished? I guess I have to echo Michelangelo s famous answer to that question when it was posed by Pope Julius II about the Sistine Chapel. When will it be finished? When it is finished! Actually, the timeline isn t as vague as that. We should have some classrooms available in February, and if that happens then we will be able to move some of our classes into the new facility, which will allow us to move the music classes of our littlest ones now being held in the portable classrooms (known fondly as the trailer park ) out of them, allowing us to have the portables removed, thus saving the monthly rental fee we presently pay. This is the fifth major building project in the thirty-three year history of our parish. While I love the excitement of construction, I m sure we re all weary of a crowded school building, torn-up parking lot, inconvenient access, and constant dust. As the old adage says, This too shall pass. Then, as we luxuriate in a spacious facility, ample parking, wide driveways, and beautiful landscaping, all this inconvenience will become a fading memory. Our Lady of the Atonement was established on 15 August 1983 and it is the founding parish for the Anglican Use in the Catholic Church. The liturgy reflects the Anglican heritage of the parish, and it is an approved liturgical use of the Roman Catholic Church. In addition to our Anglican Use liturgy in English, we offer the Ordinary Form of the Holy Mass in Latin as an expression of our traditional Catholic faith and as a ministry to the wider archdiocesan family. Of course, the most important thing we do as a parish is to offer worthy worship to Almighty God. Sunday Masses are at 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 6:00 p.m. Mass is offered each weekday at 7:00 a.m. and at 9:15 a.m. The Mass on Saturday morning is offered at 10:00 a.m. with the rosary and confessions immediately following.
