You might want to make this a weekly practice by taking this hour or even half hour to spend some time in prayer and adoration. ROSARY The Rosary is prayed each morning, Monday-Friday after the 8:00 a.m. Mass and First Fridays before the 12:05 p.m. Mass. Novena of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. Tuesdays at 11:55 a.m.- -prior to 12:05 pm Mass. How to stay safe without taking a risk! I read this joke recently, and I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the statistics, but the conclusion is well worth it. Avoid riding in automobiles because they are responsible for 20% of all fatal accidents. Do not stay at home because 17% of all accidents occur in the home. Avoid walking on streets or sidewalks, because 14% of all accidents occur to pedestrians. Avoid traveling by air, rail, or water because 16% of all accidents involve these forms of transportation. Of the remaining 33%, 32% of all deaths occur in hospitals, so avoid hospitals. You will be pleased to learn, however that only.001% of all deaths occur in worship services in church, and these are usually related to previous physical disorders. Therefore, logic tells us that the safest place for you to be at any given point in time is at Church! And Bible study is safe too. The percentage of deaths during Bible study is even smaller. So for safety's sake, attend Church and read your Bible. It could save your life!! We ask that you please refrain from texting on your cell phone during Mass. Please turn your phones off before entering church. Thank you.

This year's theme is time travel with Noah! Vacation Bible music camp is open to all parishioners from St. Anthony's and friends of the parish ages pre-kindergarten through high school. The cost is free but donations are always accepted. Flyers and attached application forms will be found in the back of the church. This will be an exciting week traveling through time with Noah and learning stories of the Bible through art, music and drama! Hope to see all of you there! Ways YOU can help beautify our Church home at St. Anthony As Catholics our most important home is our Church home is where the most significant moments of our lives are lived out. Please consider helping us "spruce things up" at St. Anthony's in one of the following ways on Saturday, May 19th beginning at 9:00 a.m. Neat freaks join us as we clean the inside of the church and parish center. Painters we need your help painting. Gardeners bring your extra Hosta plants as we plant them beside the parking lot wall next to the train tracks. Carpenters bring your hammers and nails. Tuck pointers we have some brick that needs touched up inside the garage where McAnthony Window patrons now find seating from inclement weather. If you can spend an hour or two or more with us on Saturday, May 19, St. Anthony's would greatly appreciate it. Bring a friend --you'll meet some more here! Don t have a bible? We have you covered! RELIGIOUS EDUCATION May 13 10:00 Mass May Crowning May 13, at the 10:00 a.m. Mass, we will crown Mary. All children of the parish are welcome to join in the procession. The church will provide flowers, or you can bring some from home. Please meet in the Parish Center 10 minutes before Mass starts so we can hand out the flowers. After the procession, the children will rejoin their families in the pews. God our Creator, we pray: for new mothers, coming to terms with new responsibility; for expectant mothers, wondering and waiting; for those who are tired, stressed or depressed; for those who struggle to balance the tasks of work and family; for those who are unable to feed their children due to poverty; for those whose children have physical, mental or emotional disabilities; for those who have children they do not want; for those who raise children on their own; for those who have lost a child; for those who care for the children of others; for those whose children have left home; and for those whose desire to be a mother has not been fulfilled. Bless all mothers, that their love may be deep and tender, and that they may lead their children to know and do what is good, living not for themselves alone, but for God and for others. Amen. St. Faustina and the Divine Mercy Chaplet On Wednesday, May 16 at 6:00 p.m., the Adult Faith Formation will host a potluck dinner followed by a video about St. Faustina and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Many Catholics today have been inspired by St. Faustina while others know little about her. On February 22, 1931, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ appeared to this simple nun, bringing with Him a wonderful message of Mercy for all mankind. 7 Baptismal Preparation - A baptismal class is required to have your child baptized at St. Anthony s and parents need to be registered members of the parish. Sessions are offered every other month. Please call the office for the next scheduled class. You must pre register for the class. If no one registers the session is cancelled. Baptisms are preformed on the third Sunday of the month after the 11:30 Mass. Contact the Parish Office, for more information. MARRIAGE To be married at St. Anthony s you or your parents must be a member in good standing for at least 6 months before a date can be requested, with a minimum of 6 months to prepare. All couples who are planning a wedding at St. Anthony s must attend a Marriage Preparation Weekend sponsored by the Diocese of Davenport or the diocese in which they reside. Check the bulletin for a list of current weekends offered by the Diocese of Davenport.
