2 MAEDONIA S MISSION STATEMENT Mission: A community of believers responding to the Gospel of Jesus hrist through faith, worship and action. Vision: That hrist might have first place in everything. Faith is formed by the power of the Holy Spirit through personal, trusted relationship - often in our homes, youth groups, and congregation. The Stephen Ministers who will be commissioned are: Ally Lockard, Melinda Menz, Gail Pertschi, Frank Rhue, LaVonne Rhue, Dave Robinson, Pastor Stephen Rust, and Yvonne White. These lay ministers will be providing care for people in our congregation who are grieving, need long-term care, or are going through other crises in their lives. Please show your support and appreciation for these dedicated people by your presence at the commissioning service and through your prayers. Join in the celebration! 12 During the season of Easter, the onfession and Forgiveness is not observed. All hymns in today s services were selected by the confirmation class of ould we stand? It is the ancient custom of the hurch not to kneel during the Eucharistic liturgy or for the reception of communion during the Great 50 Days of Easter, Easter Day through the feast of Pentecost. We will stand to receive communion during these days, as we do at major festivals. We also invite you to stand during the Eucharistic prayer. If you are unable to stand, please feel free to sit. Her meetings were about peace and remembering all the sons and daughters lost at war. In 1907, a lady named Anna Jarvis from Philadelphia started a campaign for a national Mother's Day. She pushed her church to celebrate the holiday on the anniversary of her mother's death, the second Sunday in May. By 1911, the holiday was celebrated in almost every state. In 1914, the president made Mother's Day a national holiday on the second Sunday of May. 14

15 This Saturday program will be a community outreach opportunity. We have invited our neighborhood children to share time at Macedonia. We will be hearing the Word, sharing a meal and creating a surprise for their nurturing adult. Social Ministry & Youth Ministry For many students around the world there are barriers to getting an education such as simple school supplies. LWR asks you to donate these items; they will be collected for school kits to be sent this fall. Each kit will include: 4 notebooks (70 sheet, no loose paper) 1 30 cm ruler 5 ball point pens (black or blue, no gel ink) 1 blunt school scissors 5 #2 pencils (unsharpened) 1 pencil sharpener 1 box of 16 or 24 crayons 1 eraser (2 1/2 inch) 1 drawstring back pack If anyone is interested in making or helping to make the draw string back packs, please contact Elizabeth Murray,
