6 MINUTE FOR BOOST THE TROOPS Pattie Gunter THE SHARING OF OUR LIVES THROUGH OUR GIFTS OFFERTORY You re the Only Jesus Jensen/Hayes If not in you, I wonder where will they ever see the One who really cares? If not from you, how will they find there s one who heals the broken heart and gives sight to the blind? Cause you re the only Jesus some will ever see and you re the only words of life some will ever read. So let them see in you the One in whom is all they ll ever need, cause you re the only Jesus some will ever see. And if not you, I wonder who will show them love, and love alone can make things new? If not from you, how will they learn there s One who ll trade their hopelessness for joy in return? So let Him shine, let Him show, let them see Him in you, you ve got to let them know. Vision Statement Approved by Session June 12, 2012 As we approach our 175 th year of ministry, the people of Lewinsville Presbyterian Church celebrate the gifts and opportunities given to us. We strive to build on our heritage of Christian discipleship to serve God and all creation. We strengthen our congregation as we: Worship God in ways that engage the spirit, mind, heart and body. Educate and form disciples in Christian faith. Care for one another with the compassion of Jesus Christ. We participate in Christ s mission in the world to redeem and transform all creation as we: Extend our legacy of care to vulnerable older adults and their families. Reach out to the youth of northern Virginia, ushering them into a healthy, vibrant, productive adulthood. Provide a forum for civil public policy discourse and, as faithful Christians, address social justice issues. Become a recognized Christian presence in the emerging Tysons urban center. Some of our favorite Bible stories may fall within the common lectionary and some may not so we will not feel bound by the lectionary this summer. What is your favorite Bible story? What is a story you would like to hear about in worship this summer? If there s a story from the Bible that you would like to hear this summer in worship let us know. We can t guarantee that all of the suggested stories we receive will be worked into the nine weeks of July and August, but we ll try.
