Archdiocesan Men s Conference 2018 This year s Conference is entitled Go into the whole world (Mark 16:15) The Men s Conference will be held at St. Paul Catholic High School in Bristol, Ct. on Saturday, October 20, Registration is now open. Please visit Fr. James Sullivan, pastor of Assumption Parish in Ansonia, Ct. will be one of the speakers among a host of others. Archbishop Leonard P. Blair will hold a Q and A session. Confession and the celebration of Mass will also take place. More information follow. Archdiocesan Women s Conference 2018 This year s Conference is entitled: Woman is the World s Harmony. Thank you A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and discussed the statements for the Archdiocesan Synod in the year, These thoughts will be sent to the Deanery priest representative, Fr. Joseph Di Sciacca, who will compile them for a meeting of parish representatives with Archbishop Blair in the near future. Representatives from each parish in the Deanery will be chosen by the pastor. We are Deanery 6 which comprises the following towns: Southington, Plantsville, Meriden, Wallingford, North Haven, Hamden, Yalesville, Cheshire. A Deanery is a district within a Diocese that meets once-a-month (priests only) with the Dean to deliberate the common good for the area and report to the Archbishop on the spiritual needs of the local parishes. Through all this you have been and continue to be quite co-operative. We are so grateful to you. Also, you are learning the many intricacies of a Diocese and how it works. Please continue to be open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit for the success of the Archdiocesan Synod, God s blessing s be yours and, more to follow! Lourdes in Litchfield Fundraiser A Summer Evening at Montfort House This fund-raising event to benefit the Shrine of Lourdes in Litchfield, will be held on the terrace and grounds of Montfort House, Rte. 118, 83 Montfort Rd., (top of the hill), Litchfield, CT on Saturday, August 18, This delightful evening will feature cocktails and select wines and fine hors d'oeuvres from local products. Delectable desserts will also be served. This event will be held with live music from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with food being served throughout the evening. Guests may arrive anytime between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The price for this fundraiser is $50.00 per person; reservations should be made. Erected on March 19, 1843 by Pope Gregory XVI ( ), it is the reason why St. Joseph is our Patron Saint and the Cathedral is named in St. Joseph s honor. March 19th is St. Joseph s Feast Day. To date there are only 2 Masses to have a Mass Offering made. Then we can open the 2019 Mass Book. Thank you for your co-operation and patience. To most of you this seems to be a new policy. In fact, the directive has come to us about 8 years ago. We cannot take Mass offerings for 2019 until 2018 Offerings are received. The Mass Offerings for 2019 will be ear-marked, and placed in the Operating Fund, so that your checks will clear, and you will be able to balance your personal books. Then in early January, 2019 the ear-marked offerings will be placed in the Mass Account for When making your Mass Offering, you may place it in the Sunday Collection basket; mail it in to the Office, or stop by the Office Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Please be sure to make the check out to St. Aloysius Church, write the date (s) of the Mass and your loved one s name. On the bottom of the envelope, please write Att. Jennifer-Masses. 23rd Annual Franciscan Golf Classic The Franciscan Golf Classic will take place on Monday August 20, 2018, at Tunxis Country Club, Farmington, Connecticut. Registration begins at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. shotgun. True, but not for a pastor. There is so much preparation for the coming year, etc., etc. by Archdiocesan policy, priests are granted an overnight. This is my 3rd pastorate and I have found that I (personally) can only take one day instead of two. I have no problem with this. During the summer months I accumulate that one day and take a Monday through Friday (5 days). For the month of July I will be out from July and August There will not be a daily Mass on those days. You are invited to go to any of the four Catholic Churches in the area. As Always, Fr. Ron Picnic News This year s Parish Picnic takes place on Sunday, September 9, 2018 after the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Volunteer sign up sheets are located at the entrances of the Church. Please consider volunteering to make our picnic a success. The Ladies Guild are in need of your support and help!
