2 THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT We have come to the halfway point in our Lenten Journey of conversion. The Ten Commandments the guiding principles of our Christian way of life are set before us in today s first reading. The responsorial psalm is a beautiful reflection on these commandments. Spend time before Mass today reading this text, for these truly are words of everlasting life. HEARTFELT SYMPATHY to the family and friends of Geraldine V. Popoleo. 3 SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION Saturday, April 2nd, Bishop William Winters will confirm our students in the Sacrament of Confirmation at the 6:00 p.m. Mass. In this week s bulletin, we list all those who will be confirmed and express our prayerful and heartfelt congratulations. We ask all our parishioners to be praying for our candidates who will be receiving the fullness of the Holy Spirit and receive one of the three sacraments of Christian Initiation. Our Candidates of Confirmation need to be congratulated for their faithful attendance at the eight-week instruction program. Special thanks needs to be expressed to Sister Janelle who in the past eight weeks has faithfully and carefully instructed our candidates for this Sacrament. Her dedication and concern for our confirmandi is a sure sign that our candidates will be well prepared to receive the Holy Spirit. We welcome our thirty-three confirmandi joyously into our faith community as they are the Church. We are ever grateful for the various ministries of our parishes that they will be involved with in the coming years in our parishes of St. Agnes and Holy Trinity. Attention all of Our Great Bakers We will be celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation of April 2nd at the 6:00 p.m. Mass. We need our terrific bakers of the parishes to bake cookies for the Social that follows in the Social Hall after Mass. Please drop your goodies off during the afternoon of Saturday, April 2nd in St. Agnes Social Hall before the 6:00 p.m. Mass of Confirmation. Your thoughtful assistance is greatly appreciated! Easter Flower Memorials for Living/Deceased As in the past, the lilies and other flowers that will enhance our Sanctuary at Easter can be memorials for the living or deceased. If you wish to make a donation toward these flowers in memory of someone, please put it in the special envelope found in your box/monthly packet of envelopes and write on it their name/s as well as your own. These will be listed in the Easter Sunday bulletin. Please drop the envelopes in the collection basket or parish office by Monday, April 11th. WEDNESDAYS OF LENT Father Edward Litavec, a popular preacher of our Diocese, continues his Wednesday Lenten Series, at St. Agnes on the theme of Walking with the Crucified Lord Prayerfully, Fervently and Joyfully. during the 7:00 p.m. Eucharistic celebration. Then on Wednesday, 30th of March, Father Richard Jones will preside over a Day of Recollection to be held at Holy Trinity beginning at 9:00 a.m. with confessions and celebration of the Eucharist at 11 a.m. and concluding with a luncheon in the social hall. It is open to all with a blessed opportunity in this Lenten Season in preparation for the Resurrection of our Lord.
