This program will run for six weeks and will be utilizing the Little Rock Catholic Study Bible. A trained facilitator will conduct these classes. If you wish to enroll please contact the parish office at by February 12th so we can have the required number of materials on hand. 3 BLESSED When we think of the word Beatitude we think of today s discourse from Luke s Gospel, or the more familiar one from Matthew (which begins Blessed are the poor in spirit... ). Actually, beatitudes occur throughout the prophets and Gospels. Today in Jeremiah (with an echo in the psalm) we hear, Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord (Jeremiah 17:7). Following his resurrection in John s Gospel, Christ proclaims, Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed (John 20:29). The evangelists placed these sayings throughout the Gospels as short reminders about the characteristics that one will find in a follower of Christ, characteristics that will help spread the Good News in this life and lead to eternal blessings in the next. In Latin, the saints are called the Beati, the Blessed, for they are the ones who lived the blessed life as described by Jesus throughout the Gospels. 6 BIENAVENTURADOS O DICHOSOS Cuando pensamos en la palabra bienaventuranza pensamos en el discurso de hoy del Evangelio según Lucas, o en el más familiar según Mateo (que comienza Dichosos lo que tienen espíritu de pobre... ). En realidad, las bienaventuranzas ocurren en los profetas y evangelios. Hoy, en Jeremías (con un eco en el salmo) oímos: Bendito el hombre que confía en el Señor (Jeremías 17:7). Luego de su resurrección en el Evangelio de san Juan, Cristo proclama: Dichosos los que creen sin haber visto! (Juan 20:29). Los evangelistas colocaron estos dichos por todos los evangelios como cortos recordatorios sobre las caracteríscas de quien sigue a Cristo, características que ayudarán a diseminar la Buena Nueva en esta vida y llevarnos a la dicha eterna en la próxima. En latín, los santos son llamados Beati o Beatos porque son aquellos que viven la vida feliz descrita por Jesús en los evangelios. BAUTISMO Las Clases de Bautismo son el Primer Viernes del mes a las 6:00 pm en la Sala de Conferencias. Bautismo son los Sábados a las 10:00 am. Taller de Liturgia con el Padre Juan Carlos Quiero invitar a todos los fieles de nuestra parroquia a participar en los Talleres de Liturgia que se realizaran en el Salón Parroquial en los dos siguientes viernes: 22 de febrero y 1 de Marzo desde las 7:00 pm a 9:00 pm. Toda celebración Litúrgica, como obra de Cristo, Sacerdote, y de su Cuerpo, que es la Iglesia, es la acción Sagrada por excelencia, cuya eficacia no iguala ninguna otra acción de la Iglesia (Concilio Vaticano II, SC 7). La Liturgia, especialmente la Liturgia Eucarística (Santa Misa), es el bien más grande que tiene la Iglesia. Pero... Sabrías decir lo que la Misa realmente es? Sabrías distinguir una Misa de cualquier otra reunión Cristiana? Si tu hijo te pregunta: Para qué ir a Misa?, le sabrías responder bien? Entiendes lo que celebras cada Domingo? Cómo debe ser el Canto y la Música de la Liturgia Eucarística? Porqué debemos buscar uniformidad en la Liturgia, y no creatividad? Entiendes el significado de tus gestos y posturas durante la Misa? Estos Talleres están abiertos a todos los parroquianos. Los que participan en la Liturgia como ministros (Coros, Ujieres, Ministros Extraordinarios de la Santa Comunión, Lectores, Monaguillos, etc.) deben participar en función de su oficio. Les aseguro que serán días de mucho provecho para todos. No dejen pasar esta oportunidad de crecer en el conocimiento del culto de la Iglesia.
