1 OVMBR 2017 TH SACTUS BLL St. Bride s piscopal Church Dear Friends in Christ, FROM TH SIOR WARD We express our great thankfulness that Father Michael Godderz and his wife Ruth could be with us this past Sunday. ineteen years ago he was called to All Saints in Boston. It was good for many of us to renew acquaintance and for me to meet him personally. His homily of assurance from John 16:33 provided us with a great promise from Jesus Christ. In the midst of our Interim between priests, it is well to remember Christ s promise, I have overcome the world. Saturday your Vestry members met with our Consultant from the Diocese, Father Conor Alexander. For about 3 hours we discussed our values, our hopes and our faith. We began with Morning Prayer and completed our time together with oonday Prayers. We developed an Action Plan to seek God s priest for our situation. Actions that we forsee are to develop our own Parish Resume, called a Parish Profile. We shall also begin an intensive search through the diocese for a priest who is Part-time. Please continue your prayers for our beloved Parish. Still listening Kirke Upcoming vents 11/2 ALL SOULS DAY 7PM High Mass with recitation of the Faithful Departed/ Fr. 2 My name is Deborah Limpin, and I am happy to be part of the St. Brides family. I am a 26 year old mother of three children; a 6 year old son, R.J, who happens to have Autism, a 4 year old son Braydon, and a daughter who is 3, Mia. I married my soul mate in I am originally from Corpus Christi, Texas and moved to Virginia Beach earlier this year to be closer to family. I love spending time crafting, anything from coloring on the floor with my little ones to designing and printing my own t-shirts. I am a baseball Mom! I love anything and everything baseball! I am a strong supporter for Autism, and tend to spend my weekends educating myself on Autism. For fun, I love taking walks with my children at Mt. Trashmore and spending time at the parks. I love children! I love meeting new people and you can always catch me with a smile on face! Mary Lovell and Deborah are busy with some file cleaning as they have a chance. Watch for a new column From the Files in future Sanctus Bells. Did you know that all of our paper files have Retention Statements and are to be destroyed (or kept) according to these standards? 3 Sundays in ovember Sunday, ovember 5 Morning Prayer 8 AM and Bob Byles, Officiant ovember 5 Daylight Saving Time nds Don t forget to set your clocks back one hour! We will be meeting a new (to us) priest on ovember 12. Fr. David Thames (pronounced Thames not Tims like the river) will be with us. Fr. David is a avy Chaplain stationed in orfolk. Please be here to welcome him as he celebrates Mass at St. Bride s. Spread the word! The office is still working on Clergy for ovember and December, but we are making great progress. Remember that each of the Priests, new, or returning, high or low, has particular gifts to share with us (and we with him). Let s take this opportunity to learn from each of them!
4 Horatio s Corner It is I, Horatio Churchmouse, back in my cozy home at St. Bride s. I have had a wonderful vacation. Although I am somewhat fatigued from all my travels, I can t wait to tell you about them and the fabulous food. I missed saying goodbye to Ms. Jane. I bet they don t have a station mouse down at the TV station. She left a kind note for our new secretary Ms. Deborah. I hope she told her all about me! But back to the food, glorious vacation food, guiltfree, indulgent food. I ate berries and cheese, and burgers and cheese, and (a little) beer and cheese, and pecans and cheese well, you get the picture. I must admit that I came home a bit more rotund then my usual trim self but the indulgence was worth it. I had planned to begin exercising with Ms. Kendra s class, but it has grown so much I was afraid they would see me tucked in the corner. I considered racing around with the ODH kids, but those guys are fast! and the Girl Scouts are excitedly planning snow tubing, and horseback riding which are entirely too dangerous for a mouse. I decided to lay low (literally) and rest up until the reception for Fr. Mike and Ruth. Ms. Mary Z. always plans early morning treats for the 8 o clockers and snack-y things for the late group. verything was very yummy. I was able to tuck away a few supplies in my pantry. I ll start my exercise plan on Monday, XT Monday.
