4 PILGRIMAGE TO HOLY LAND. Msgr. 5 Oración a San Miguel - Un mensaje del Padre Bill Algunos de nuestros feligreses han solicitado que la oración a San Miguel se ore en las Misas de fin de semana. Esta fue una oración compuesta por el Papa San León XIII durante un momento par cularmente di cil para la Iglesia. Se rezó al final de todas las misas hasta que se aprobó el nuevo rito en Me parece que la Iglesia está pasando por un momento par cularmente di cil por varias razones que todos podemos reconocer. Bill Some of our parishioners have requested that the prayer to St. Michael be prayed at weekend Masses. This was a prayer composed by Pope St. Leo XIII during a par cularly trying me for the Church. It was prayed at the end of all low Masses un l the new rite of 1970 was approved. It seems to me the Church is now going through a par cularly difficult me for several reasons that we all can recognize. Therefore, we will pray this special prayer again as part of the prayers of the faithful beginning with the new liturgical year, the First Sunday of Advent, which falls on December 2 nd this year. The prayer will be inserted into the inside cover of the new missale es. A Prayer for Immigrants We know, Lord, that you yourself are a migrant. You experienced the trials of the refugee, having fled as a child with your parents, Joseph and Mary, to Egypt. We know your special love for those with no other possession but one another, and you. Move our hearts, Lord, and the hearts of our leaders to love them as you do, to love them with your love, to be your love for migrants at the doorway of our country. 6 BLESSED MIGUEL AGUSTIN PRO, S.J Feast day - November 23 Miguel Pro was born January 13, 1891, at Guadalupe Zacatecas, Mexico. The loving and devoted son of a mining engineer and a pious and charitable mother, Miguel had a special af inity for the working classes which he retained all his life. At 20, he became a Jesuit novice and was exiled because of the Mexican revolution. He traveled to the United States, Spain, Nicaragua and Belgium, where he was ordained in Father Pro suffered greatly from a severe stomach problem and when, after several operations his health did not improve, in 1926 his superiors allowed him to return to Mexico in spite of the religious persecution there. The churches were closed and priests were in hiding. Father Pro spent the rest of his life in a secret ministry to the sturdy Mexican Catholics. He also carried out works of mercy by assisting the poor of Mexico City with their temporal needs. He adopted many disguises to carry out his secret ministry. In all that he did, he remained illed with the joy of serving Christ, his King, and obedient to his superiors. Father Pro performed his ministry heroically until November 23, He was caught and, without a trial, condemned for being a Catholic priest. As he faced the iring squad, he stretched out his arms until his whole body was a living cross. Then he called out in a loud voice: Viva Cristo Rey! (Long live Christ the King!)
