Music Ministry News Music Ministry Notes If you play a musical instrument and would like to share your talents in leading the hymns on occasion during the 11:00am Mass, please contact Patti at preavel@mystjoan.org Singers needed, especially sopranos, for the adult choir. The adult choir sings at the 9:00am Sunday Mass and rehearses Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm. No audition is required! We are a very welcoming, joyful group! Patti is putting together a bell choir during the season of Lent with the goal of ringing during the 11:00am Mass on Easter Day. If you would be interested please contact Patti at preavel@mystjoan.org. Children s Choir will resume during the months of February, March, April, May. The children will sing once a month at the 11:00am Mass. Rehearsals will be one Wednesday a month from 6:00-7:00pm. Please stay tuned for further information and contact Patti with any questions. LENT 2019 Study: Join us for a Parish-wide Lenten Study to begin the first week of March. There will be multiple small groups meeting at locations in Saint Louise and Saint Joan of Arc facilities, at different times and days for 7 sessions. Hopefully you are working on some shawls/ blankets during this winter to replenish our supply. If you want to drop off at office before our first meeting, office is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00am- 3:00pm. All our welcome to our ministry, we don't discriminate between age or gender all our welcome, doesn't matter if you can crochet or knit, we can use all to help our ministry. Sir Winston Churchill is considered to be one of the greatest figures of the 20th century. Soldier, statesman, writer, painter and public figure for more than sixty years. He served as Prime Minister of the U.K. and led Britain to an allied victory in World War II. 6 The Nocturnal Adoration Society of Saint Louise de Marillac invites Saint Joan of Arc parishioners to join our organization. Once a month, our members respond to Christ s invitation to keep watch with him for one-hour. You will be welcomed into one of ten dedicated vigil groups, or you may form your own group consisting of 4 to 8 members. Our presenter, Jan Patsch Taylor, who is a Master Floral Designer and Professional Floral Commentator, has been at Malone Flower Shop in Canonsburg for thirty years. Previously she freelanced for many area shops and a local wholesale flower company. As a Christian, she has created programs to inspire and entertain while sharing floral design and Biblical truth. There are arrangements representing Genesis, the I Am, a Wordless arrangement and many more. The meeting will begin with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. All ladies of Saint Joan and Saint Louise parishes are invited. Light refreshments will be served. Boy Scout Troop 4 Accepting New Youth Members Since 1962 we have developed character and leadership skills in the boys of this area. 152 of our members have achieved Scouting s highest honor - Eagle Scout. The Troop 4 program focuses on Catholic values. We are accepting new 5th and 6th grade members on Monday, February 25 at 7:30pm in the lower level of the LeGras Parish Center which is located at Saint Louise de Marillac, 320 McMurray Road in Upper St. Clair. No previous Scouting experience necessary, just a desire to have fun and learn new skills. League play begins Friday, May 3 teeing off anytime from 3:00pm-6:00pm (whenever you can get there) and runs through September 13. Members are encouraged but are NOT required to play every week. Following the round, members are encouraged to go to LeGras Hall at Saint Louise for a meal and share fellowship with Parish League members. Our first 2019 Membership meeting for existing and new members will be held on March 15 at 7:30pm in the Saint Louise school cafeteria. All men in the Parish, age 21 and over, are invited to attend the meeting to learn more about joining the League, share fellowship with Parish league members and have some drinks and snacks.
