4 Page 4 July 8, 2018 St. Thomas School News In place of the backpack drive, we will be collecting school supplies for St. Thomas School classrooms to help stock our teachers for the new school year. Many teachers pay for supplies out of their own pocket when the school budget gets tight. Each class has kids. Please bring donations to the Parish Office, or collection boxes in the church vestibule. Please order a week in advance. SAFETY CORNER Summer months mean more time outdoors, but it also means more mosquitos. Stay healthy this Summer and avoid mosquito-borne illnesses. Make sure to use bug spray, and reapply as directed. Wear long pants and long sleeved shirts with breathable material while outdoors. Avoid leaving doors open, as that can invite bugs into your home. Drain stagnant pools of water as that is a prime breeding ground for mosquitos. Have faith that God can increase the blessing in your marriage. July 8 th, 2018 Taize Prayer Our shared prayer is held on the 2 nd Monday of every month at 7:00-8:00 p.m. Next meeting will be on July 9 th at First Christian Church 4055 Jurupa Ave. The next Kitchen Table Theology meeting will be on Friday, July 20 th at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Patio. We will start with a potluck dinner followed by a teaching Mass. Attendees will be walked through each part of the Mass to learn the significance of our rich history and symbolism. This is a childfriendly topic so bring the whole family. Please bring a dish to share. Bereavement Ministry truly lives and shares as our Lord instructed, to comfort and care for those in need. We like to meet with the Youth and the Parents in person prior to enrollment. It gives our coordinator a chance to get to know each family better and ensures that families know what to expect.
