1 PHONE: (972) James "Jimmy" Kent III January 23, January 5, 2017 James M. Kent III (Jimmy) was called home to our Lord on January 5, 2017, flying with his cousin and best friend, Bob Kent. His spirit is carried on by his wife, Martha, Carl Potato, Bobby Greenbeans and Mona Lisa (his dogs), his parents, his sister, his in-laws, his four nephew and nieces, and an extended family of relatives and friends from every walk of life. Born January 23, 1976, to James M. Kent, Jr. and Jan Kent, Jimmy was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew him. He had a vibrant personality and took fashion cues from no one. No matter where he was, Jimmy lit up the room and had a huge heart. If you knew him, you probably recall getting a text from him that touched your heart. He was a coach in his own right, always encouraging people to do more and be better. The way he died is like he lived: he wrote his own rules; he lived life to the fullest, doing everything with a smile, and paving his own way. If you knew him, you loved him. Throughout his life, he was most proud of marrying the love of his life, Martha Garcia; playing baseball professionally; being a successful land developer; his collection of cars; and getting his pilot s license and flying his own plane, right until the day he died. He truly embodied the concept of living life to the fullest. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Martha Garcia Kent, DDS; mother and father, Jim and Jan Kent; his sister, Julie Kent Ferraro and husband, Jay; their children, Jayde, Zoe, Chandler, and Mia; his in-laws, Dr. and Mrs. Octavio Garcia, Dr. Octavio Garcia, Drs. Matthew and Cynthia Connor; and friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten. Jimmy is reunited with his grandparents, Dr. James Marvin Kent Sr., Florence Kent, Ernest Wood, Betty Wood "Mimi", his Uncle Harry, and best friend, Larry Broccoli. His life will be celebrated on Friday, January 13, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas Memorials

I met him in 1996 in San Antonio, and he helped change my life forever. He could light up any room with that smile, and the world became a better place for anyone who met him. He was larger than life, and he could make you laugh on any given day. The guy had the best common sense advice a person could give. Jimmy was always a friend no matter how many miles were in between. He had a heart of gold, and he lived life to its fullest. Jimmy Kent was a guy that you loved like family. I am eternally grateful for his friendship. The Kents will always be in my prayers and heart.

3 CANDACE MILLER HERRING, JANUARY 13, 2017 I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even in death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories and on our hearts. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared it with Jimmy. And to Jimmy's wife, parent's and sister; I give you this one thought to keep. Jimmy is with you still. He does not sleep. He is a thousand winds that blow. He is the diamond glints on the morning dew. He is the sunlight that warms your face. He is the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning s hush, he is the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight above. He is the soft glow of the stars that shine at night. Do not think of him as gone. He is with you still in each new dawn. Lastly, thank you Jimmy for giving me the courage to let love into my life again. 4 For all of us that knew Jimmy the one thing I can say is he could make you laugh and lived life to the fullest. I'm glad I had the opportunity to know him and call him a friend. Our common love for dogs and just acting silly will always be my best memory of him. I'm still so shocked by this news and my heart aches for his family. I pray for strength for his wife and am so glad he was able to get married and have the time of his life and be in love! Rest easy Jimmy. I loved being neighbors two different times when I lived in Dallas we had so much fun during the Medici days. So many laughs! Thank you for teaching me to live life to the fullest. He had a way to make people feel special. I was extremely lucky to have been able to call this man a good friend of mine. We both shared the same love for baseball and will always think of him when I'm at the baseball field. He was also very supportive in the last few weeks. I have been dealing with the most difficult situation life has every thrown at me and he made sure to contact me via phone/text/fb pretty much everyday in the last few weeks. Below is a text message we exchanged recently where he said that he felt like 2017 would be a great year for me. I am looking forward to this upcoming year thanks to Jimmy. I am sure he knows now that he is looking down on us that he has been extremely important to me.

From the first day we met back in our college baseball days in San Antonio to today tracking his life on Facebook, he's been larger than life and always lifted me up! Jimmy was truly my little brother. He was a groomsman in our wedding, a great ball player, and an even better friend. I'll always remember the good times we had back in college. Those are some of the best memories of my younger years. Jimmy will be dearly missed but I know he will be watching over all of us who are left behind. I first met Jimmy back in 1995 at UTSA, when I was visiting as a volleyball recruit. Right from the start, he had me rolling with his crazy, hilarious, wonderful antics. Jimmy, Pete, Kelly, Carla, Rob, Lynne, and many other friends along the way made up my absolute best memories in San Antonio. We've been out of touch as we went our ways in the world, but I wish we could have shared one more beer.

I was playing baseball and when I came back to Dallas, I didn't really know anyone. He was gracious enough to take me under his wing. We had some great times and will miss his friendship.
