1 PHONE: (972) John Wesley "Wes" Clark August 17, November 23, 2010 John Wesley Wes Clark, age 84, of Plano, Texas, passed away November 23, 2010, in Plano, Texas. Wes was born August 17, 1926, in Brinkman, Oklahoma, to John Floyd and Viola (Summerall) Clark. He married Evelyn Warren on October 28, 1946, in Brinkman, Oklahoma. Wes spent over fifty years in various sales and management positions with Beech Aircraft. He was a commercial pilot with over 24,000 hours of flight experience. Wes proudly served in the United States Navy where he received the World War II Victory Medal. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Clark; children, Gary Clark and wife, Teri of Oak Point, Texas and Brenda Bailey Holmes and husband, Don of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Bryan Bailey and wife, Jenni of Rogers, Arkansas, Alicia Strange and husband, Teddy of Memphis, Tennessee, Lauren Clark, Preston Clark, Lucas Clark, and Lydia Clark; great-grandchild, Caden Bailey; and sister, Del Wade of Santa Monica, California. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 28, 2010, at Parkway Hills Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 8:00 p.m., Saturday evening at Turrentine- Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. There will be a private family graveside at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ichthus Ministries or Amazon Outreach, 4217 McAlice Dr., Plano, Texas, Memorials Having met Wes Clark at a Navy LCS Reunion two or three years ago, it was a pleasant suprise that he knew family and friends of mine in my hometown of Spearman Tx. They were all aware of his relationship with Beech, having purchased airplanes and enjoyed association with him. I would liked to have

2 known him better, but it was good to know that he had served on the same type of Navy gunboat as I. I do not recall his ship Number, but remember that he served around Okinawa during WWII. OCIE AND JOSIE TOWERY, NOVEMBER 28, 2010 It was my great pleasure to know Wes for almost forty years. The words that come to mind when I think of him are, "kind, honest, cheerful, smart, full of integrity and good judgment, professional, good sense of humor and patriotic (we exchanged many s along these lines out of concern for our country)." Tradewind Airport in the early '70s was my early stomping ground and Wes then played an important role in my career and, for that, I will always be grateful. On June 28, 1973, Wes checked me out in a Bonanza and sent me off to Galveston on my very first charter flight - the first of many for him. I flew many trips for his customers, always trying to make flying a positive experience for them (many of them first-time flyers), but the credit for the sale would always go, quite deservedly, to Wes and his sales team. On August 30, 1973 I had my first ride in a King Air (in the back). Who was flying? Wes, of course. Who else was along? Joe Dan Higgins. My experiences of those early years were overwhelmingly positive, largely due to Wes's influence. When I started owning airplanes again in 2004, I upgraded, searching for that perfect airplane, and this would necessitate an occasional sale. Who did I contact in order to get the job done right? Wes, of course. In the ensuing six years, he

4 sold four airplanes for me and it was always a positive experience. His integrity always came shining through as he always wanted to lay his eyeballs on his listings in order to represent an airplane fairly and realistically. I'm now on my 16th airplane (my wife is trying to get me to join AA - Airplanes Anonymous). When it comes time to sell it, I will know where to go - Wes Clark Aircraft. Wes's legacy will live on through all of us who knew him, flew with him and did business with him. A better man cannot now be found walking the face of the earth. We will all forever miss that cheerfully intoned greeting, "Wes Clark," when he answered the phone. After talking to Wes I always had a better day. Talking to someone of Wes's caliber, no matter what the subject, is always an uplifting experience. He called me about a month ago, not about the airplane selling business, but just to say hello, and we had a wonderful visit. As I hung up the phone I thought, "Wow! Wes Clark called me just to visit. What an honor." He just had that effect on everyone. My sincerest condolences go out to Wes's family and to Joe Dan Higgins and the rest of the Wes Clark Aircraft team. The earth is poorer for having lost a truly great man, but it is my hope that we can all find solace in remembering him fondly and in knowing that we will one day see him again. When he answered the phone with "Wes Clark", he was automatically your friend no matter how long he had known you. There are very few people in this world that you cannot say anything bad about, but Wes was one of those people. My life was a lot brighter in knowing Wes and the world has lost one of the best.
