Make a commitment now to give a few hours of your time during Holy Week to preparing our worship space. Help is desperately needed before/during the Triduum liturgies and with decorating for Easter. Things are slowly breaking down in the Center, and we now need to add a commercial ice maker to our wish list. If you can help in any way, please let Deacon Eugene know. For the record, a new icemaker (smaller than the old one) is approximately $3,500. Why do we need an icemaker? We use it each Sunday and for our More than a Meal to provide cold beverages. In the summer, we like to have iced bottles of water for the people who come to the Food Pantry. In many cases they had to walk from where they live and the ice water is just a way of being aware of an unspoken need for refreshment. So, keep us in your prayers. And, if you know of a company who wants to get rid of an icemaker -- remember us. It's never too early for a Christmas wish to come true! SUPERBOWL THANKS! Just a note to say thank you to all who helped to make this year's Super Bowl Party a success. A very special thanks to Jerome and Marsha Burt who donated the money to purchase the hog. Thanks so much Jerry and Marsha, you made a lot of people very happy. A very special thanks also to Rusty Ramsey who spent 18 long hours cooking the whole hog so everyone could admire it before devouring it! Thank you, Rusty. Awesome! Thanks also to everyone who helped to decorate, serve and cheer the respective teams on. What would the Super Bowl be without friends, food, and companionship!

3 21st Annual Gibson 5K for St. Patrick's Set For June 10 On June 10th, we will present the Gibson Guitar 5K for St. Patrick Community Outreach for the 21st time! And we need your help! If you're looking for a service project in 2017 that feeds children and families nutritious food, then the Gibson 5K is the event for you! Such is a profound act of faith when we consider seriously the good news Psalm 62 gives us confidence if we take to heart its prayer in us and take refuge in the strength of God s love The prophetic word of Isaiah declares that God will never forget us Matthew s good news is that we are valued by God even more than the beauty of the birds of the air or of the wild flowers sustained by the Holy One God s love tender as a mother s love is made flesh in the life and death of Jesus who is the good news supreme and unconditional The death and resurrection of Jesus puts into action the truth of Psalm 62 and of all the prophets This truth enables our faith to relieve us of anxiety over the conditions of our lives as well as over the state of the world As we approach and stand around the table of the Lord s Supper we are able to place all our concerns in the maternal heart of God and take on the heart of Christ alive in us until he comes again

CRS Rice Bowl is Catholic Relief Services Lenten program for families and faith communities in the United States who want to put their faith into action. Participants journey through the 40 days of Lent with a collection of daily reflections and activities included in the CRS Rice Bowl calendar and on the mobile app. Through CRS Rice Bowl, participants are invited to hear stories about their brothers and sisters in need around the world, and devote their Lenten prayers, fasting and alms to change the lives of those who suffer in poverty. Our United States Conference of Catholic Bishops website tells us that Catholic social teaching proclaims that we are our brothers' and sisters' keepers, wherever they live. We are one human family, whatever our national, racial, ethnic, economic, and ideological differences. Learning to practice the virtue of solidarity means learning that loving our neighbor has global dimensions in an interdependent world.
