3 St. Francis Parish News & Announcements From the desk of Heidi Scott As the notes of Lent surround us and permeates our song, together we sing the music of sorrow, grief, compassion and death. As the tempo slows, the harmony darkens, so too does our spirit enter into the shadowy places of Lenten days. We find no less spirit in these songs as the triumphant ones that are to come. We ask to be renewed with wonder in the glory of the cross. For without death there is no life. We proclaim the glory of our faith, our heritage and our life in communion with the suffering Christ. We pray for the grace to see His suffering and ours anew and await the day that the Alleluia s return. Until then, we will remind ourselves that lent is a time for fasting, prayer and alms giving. Our theme for this Lenten season will focus on the ways we can each share more deeply our time, talents and treasure. Spend some time in reflection this Lent and ask yourself if you can go beyond your own needs and offer more time, talent and treasure to all around you who hunger for love, compassion and charity.
