5 IT S TIME FOR CHANGE! As we come to the end of the year, we also approach a crossroads that will involve change for all us. While this is a difficult time, it is also a time of anticipation. Since this challenge comes during Advent, it also makes the lessons of waiting and listening and praying even more relevant in our lives. Sunday, December 30 we will close the chapter in the life of Our Savior s that has included Pastor Joel Brosten for the past twelve years. We will celebrate his service at Our Savior s with a potluck following church that day one that will thank him for his faithful service among us and wish him well as he continues to share his ministry. He will be missed! Sunday, January 6 will open a new chapter when we welcome Pastor Joel Westby as the intentional interim who will be with us for the coming months. Pastor Westby comes with extensive experience in helping congregations to recall where they have been, where they are now, and then help them discern where God would lead them. He will help bring us to the place where we will be ready to call a new pastor to serve Our Savior s. This time should be a one of earnest prayer for Pastor Joel as he awaits a call to a new ministry, for Pastor Joel Westby as he begins his work among us, and for our church, that each person will be challenged to examine their role in what OSLC will look like in the future. May God bless us all as we grow through change. 7 GETTING READY FOR THE ANNUAL MEETING Budget requests for 2013 need to be presented to the Property and Finance Committee by December 17 All reports for the annual report must be turned in to the church office by Monday,, January 7 to be included in the annual report. ed reports will be greatly appreciated. Church Council will meet on Thursday, January 17 at 7:00 PM Budget Forum will be held following worship on Sunday, January 20. Dorothy Bottens, a long time member and leader, passed away on December 9. Condolences may be sent to Bernie Bottens, NW 35th Avenue, Vancouver, WA Phone Ralph Dale, another faithful member, passed away December 4 in Longmont, CO. Betty is in a rehab center. Condolences may be sent to her at 1627 Francis Way, Longmont, CO Kay Bolland, an associate member of our church, passed away on Friday, December 7. Services are pending. 7

8 Thanks to everyone who participated in the Christmas Tea on Saturday, December 8 to Pastor Joel, Elaine Osborne, Judy Ludtke, Susie Bueling, Renate Weldele, Lynn Ryan and the Russell Ayres, to the people who decorated and hosted each table, and the men who were the clean up crew. The tables were beautiful and Lunde Hall has never looked more festive. Thanks to those who contributed to the Harvest Offering. All of the money received $2650 was distributed to deserving groups.
