1 Fayetteville Church of Christ 870 Redwine Road Fayetteville, Ga Volume 17 Number 20 May 22nd, 2011 Office Staff Susie Graham Jane Lankford Office Telephone (770) (770) Fax Web Page: Minister Cell Number: Youth Minister Greg Nash Cell Nbr: Elders: Curtis Hurt (770) David Lee (770) Gerry Whitacre (770) Jim Garner (770) Jim Pelfrey (770) Ronnie Beckwith (770) Assembly Schedule: Sunday 9:00 am Bible Classes 10:00 am Worship Service 6:00 pm Evening Service Tuesday Morning Bible Class 10:00 am (September-May) Wednesday Bible Classes 7:00 pm Friends and Family Day (Psalm 118:24) This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Today is a very special day for us as we worship God together with our friends and family who have come as honored guests. Part of our work as Christians is to extend God s invitation from heaven to every creature on earth and we ought to begin with friends and family. (Mark 16:15) And Jesus said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. We are excited by those who have come today and it is our prayer that your eyes will be opened to a worship conducted in spirit and truth (John 4:23), that your hearts will be pricked by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:37) and that you personally will be edified by the love extended to you by this church. (I Thessalonians 5:11) Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. There is a reason the King of this universe has brought us together. It is the same reason he allowed himself to be lifted up upon a cross. (John 12:32) And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. (Mark 2:17) Jesus said unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (John 16:28) I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. (John 14:2-3) I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. We have prepared a delicious luncheon for everyone directly after service and I am sure it will be a great time of fun, food and fellowship. Jesus told his apostles about a spiritual banquet they would partake of in the kingdom of heaven, (Luke 22:29-30) And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Here is the essence of all that we do and who we are. God has called us to His eternal wedding feast as a bride adorned for her bridegroom, Jesus Christ. But we must come worthy. (Matt.22:8) Then said he to his servants, the wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. Jesus makes us worthy by washing our robes in his blood, making them whiter than snow. (Rev.1:5) from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood. We must remain together in the bond of peace, unity and love until Jesus comes to take us to heaven (Eph.4:3).
