1 Volume 18, Number 33 August 12th, 2012 PHYSICAL BLESSINGS FROM GOD God has blessed us with many physical blessings. These blessings are so many in number that it would be impossible to count them. "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19) Following are some of God's physical blessings: God has blessed us with our families. "Houses and riches are an inheri tance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from the Lord. (Proverbs 19:14) Our wives are from God and our children are too. "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward." (Psalm 127:3) God has blessed us with prosperity and health. "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth." (3 John 2-3) If you have both your health and a sound mind you are a rich person. God has blessed us with food and clothing. "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" (Matthew 6:25-26) Remember that God has given you what you have. "And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day." (Deuteronomy 8:18) God has blessed us with a beautiful world. "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard." (Psalm 19:1-3) The sun, moon, stars, flowers, rivers and all these blessing of nature come from our Creator. "What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits toward me?" (Psalm 116:12) Will you respond to God's blessings with love and obedience? God has blessed us and in our love we should respond in humble obedience to His will. (John 14:15) To obey the gospel one must hear God's word (Romans 10:17), believe in Jesus (John 8:24), repent of sins (Acts 17:30), confess Christ as Lord (Acts 8:37), and be baptized to be saved. (1 Peter 3:21) After baptism God deserves our faithfulness! (Revelation 2:10) By Charles Box, Walnut Street Church of Christ, 870 Redwine Road Fayetteville, Georgia & (fax) Web Page: & mail@fcoc.com
