1 CHI RHO August, 2018 PASTOR The Chi Rho is published monthly by St. John. Submissions are requested by the 19th of the month preceding publication. As you may have already heard, the 12 th of August will be my farewell Sunday. I have accepted a call to a church nearer family in South Carolina. I have been in Texas six years now, and it is time I move home. While goodbyes are painful, as a family-oriented church, I am confident you will also understand my need to live nearer family. It is also difficult for me to say goodbye, especially when you have been such good friends over these last four years. Even more, you are the community to whom I was first called and ordained to serve as a pastor. You will always hold a special place in my and Sarah s hearts. Rev. Kris Totzke from the NTNL Synod will attend the August 20 th council meeting. She will help lead you through this transition from finding an interim pastor to your next called pastor. I am confident that you are well prepared to face this transition. I will hold regular office hours through my last official day, the 15 th of August, if you wish to drop by personally to speak. I will also be reaching out to do the same. See you in church, Pastor Joe Woodward
