1 the Cedar Chips July / August 2013 Pastor s Corner Summer is here. Heat and humidity, yes, I love it. I found that I could get lots of things done when it was sunny and warm outside. I tended to stay cozy in the house feeling lazy and not wanting to go anywhere or doing anything when it was cold out there. Well, I am saying that I am more energetic in warm weather. Many of you will say the same and many of you will say the opposite. This tells why God gives us seasons. God cares for each of us and so different seasons are for different people. God wants us to appreciate differences in ways that we can bring positive and good affects out of our every day of life. We don t have to like the same things but we still can accept and welcome what we don t like because others do. flower gardens. I can hear God clearer when I sit on the grass. These all are small little things I learn. What can and/or do you learn for yourself? Summertime is here for you and me. Let us spend it wisely and humbly with God and God s goodness to the world. God is Good! Life is Precious! Signed Pastor Kris Our Vision Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church seeks to glorify God through nurturing spiritual growth, developing faithful discipleship, and serving our community. I learned that God cares for every little detail in my life. And so how do I care for every little detail of God s creations? I learn not to overlook what a weed can teach me. I learn to enjoy every step I walk around the neighborhood with Max the beagle plus. I learn to notice a breeze. I learn to smile at a bird. If God pays attention to me I must pay attention to God and God s world. I feel closer to God when I can feel the earth and dirt in my hands when I work in my

There is now a list of NOVELS in the Cedar Grove Library collection. The list is posted in the church hallway. Just think, books readily available with NO DUE DATE. You sign them out and sign them back in when YOU RE ready to return them. No rushing back to the library with books by the due date to avoid a fine; no losing them electronically before you ve finished reading. Take advantage and enjoy some good company this summer with a book from your church library! All You Need When I was a little girl I went to my father and said, Daddy, I am afraid that I will never be strong enough to be a martyr for Jesus Christ. Tell me, said Father. When you take a train trip to Amsterdam, when do I give you the money for the ticket? Three weeks before? No, Daddy. You give me the money for the ticket just before we get on the train. That is right, my father said. And so it is with God s strength. Our Father in heaven knows when you will need the strength to be a martyr for Jesus Christ. He will supply all you need just in time.
