Show the disk to the Elder distributing wafers and leave on the communion rail when finished. Ingredients: Filtered water, sweet rice flower, potato flour, organic palm fruit oil, potato starch, modified cellulose, sunflower lecithin. 3 Ministry Focus The purpose of Zion Lutheran Church is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people through Word and Sacrament; encouraging and supporting one another as a fellowship of believers. Board of Church Properties What is the board s purpose? To serve Zion Lutheran Church and Martin Luther School by maintaining the physical plant and grounds to assure a safe and comfortable environment for worship, education, Christian fellowship and general use by its members, staff and participants. The members and volunteers of this Board, acknowledging Jesus Christ as our Savior pray for Christ s help and guidance in doing the best with the talents He has given them to perform all the duties required of this Board. Make timely inspections of Zion and Martin Luther School properties and equipment and complete needed repairs, improvements or replacements. The Board members meet weekly (usually Wednesday evening) to review and address the current repairs and maintenance for that week. Some board members stop at the church several times during the week to address immediate needs. Enlist board members and volunteers for special repairs, improvements, cleaning, painting and decorating, landscaping, and other projects. Seasonal work includes mowing, grounds cleanup, shoveling snow from entrances and sidewalks and general snow removal from parking lots. Work with appropriate staff, committees, officers and leaders in managing the church facilities. Board members and volunteers assist in other projects when asked and able and available to do so. Who currently serves on the Board? Dave Weltz, Dave Thiel, Al Roe, Russ Weixel, Fred Nistler, Travis Rau, Jerry Cleveland, Jeremy Glass, Ryan Ell, Kevin Pfau and Dave Kemnitz. Listed below are just some of the volunteers working on any number of projects; Bryon Fuchs, Bernie Keller, Bruce Schumaker, Lynette Schumaker, Bernie Sailer, Gary Semmel, Richard Shearer, Pat Bohn, Mark Anderson, Kevin Davison, Dick Letteer, Jim Miller, and Chris Rooke. 6 Through this event, more than 240 volunteers helped pack, weigh, and seal bags of dried food. This included groups & individuals from Zion, Martin Luther School, Messiah Lutheran Church, Impact One Mentorship program (Bismarck High students & community mentors), Touchmark, and the Home-school Association. We also got to taste the yummy meals, which consist of rice, vegetables, soy, chicken & protein powder. A huge thank you to Kristin Nistler for recruiting & directing efforts at Zion, and to Andrea Eckstein for directing the Mercy Meals efforts state wide. Thank you to everyone who supported the efforts with Mercy Meals! With your help, we were able to pack 40,626 meals for Christian schools in Liberia. This exceeded our goal by 15,000 meals! What a blessing. Please look for this event in the future, as we plan to continue this wonderful multi-generational service project. Page 6
