2 BIG News! The Staff-Parish Relations Committee is excited to announce that upon the retirement of Rev. Fred Wideman, Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey will appoint Rev. Donnie Wilkinson to be the next Senior Pastor of Broadmoor United Methodist Church beginning July 1, Rev. Wilkinson is currently Senior Pastor of First United Methodist Church in Alexandria, Louisiana. He has fourteen years of pastoral and administrative leadership in a variety of congregational settings throughout the Louisiana Conference. Rev. Wilkinson is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University and Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. Donnie and his wife, April have been married for 15 years and are the parents of Mollybeth (12) and John Harper (8). April is currently a third and fourth grade teacher at Country Day School in Alexandria. More information will be shared in the coming weeks regarding events surrounding the change in pastoral leadership. Please keep both pastoral families and both congregations in your thoughts and prayers as we enter into this season of transition and change. Breathing Under Water This four-week study, Breathing Under Water by Richard Rohr, will follow Rev. Fred Wideman s sermon series on addiction beginning April 3. We are all addicted in some way. When we learn to identify our addiction, embrace our brokenness, and surrender to God, we begin to bring healing to ourselves and our world. In Breathing Under Water, Richard Rohr shows how the gospel principles in the Twelve Steps can free anyone from any addiction from an obvious dependence on alcohol or drugs to the more common but less visible addiction that we all have to sin. The study begins Wednesday, April 6 and meets from 6:30-8:00pm in Room 205 of the Adult Building. Register by calling Mary Saltzman at the church office, If you need childcare, please let Mary know by Monday, April 4. All Men Are Invited!
