In 2011, New Hope CROP Walkers raised nearly $900 towards our goal of $1000. In 2012, we set our goal conservatively, but prayed that God would bless our efforts, and He did! The final total contributed to support this year's New Hope CROP Walkers is [drum roll, please, Bill!] nearly 50 pounds of tuna fish and peanut butter, and...$1,328.00! What generous folks you are -- thank you so very much! Never forget the words of the Savior: "Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over..." [Luke 6:38]."

3 November 21, 2012 Stewardship Thought As we give in today s offering, we receive all that the Lord will open up to us of His good treasure and give us a surplus of prosperity so we can be generous on all occasions. We choose to honor the Lord today with our firstfruit offering. Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will over-flow with new wine. 5 November 7, 2012 Page 5 Getting to Know our New Hope Family Meet the Nortons Well let me introduce you to our brother and sister in Christ, Charles (aka Charlie), and Sandra (aka Sandy) Norton. The Nortons can be seen on Sunday mornings, normally Charlie is slowly and methodically meandering in, while Sandy is whizzing in on her motorized cart. Anyone who knows the Nortons at all knows you tell them you want them someplace 30 minutes earlier than you need them, so they can show up about 15 minutes late. But show up they do, they are dependable and always willing to give of themselves to help others. Charlie with his love for trains and having retired from the railroad company, can now be seen inside and outside of our church fixing, or landscaping, or fine tuning a piece of equipment. I don't know of a job he can not put his hand to and figure out how to repair or make work again. Charlie will be the one we see oiling the" Pearlie Gates" when we get to heaven! And what a shining example for our youth to model, not only does he put his hand to the fine tuning needs of our church, but also he serves as an Elder for our congregation. Sandy the "Tinker Check Out Confidant", is now our New Hope listener. She will laugh with you, and cry with you, and rejoice with you. Sandy is our emotional support person here at New Hope. There is not a time that Sandy has not looked out over our congregation and silently prayed for someone she feels is in need. And secret keeper, the Pentagon should be so lucky to hire her as their "Secretary of Secret Keeping." If you just need to tell someone, she's the one to tell because she will act like she never heard it and she will definitely never repeat it! Just ask any of the youth from the Nicoma Park Christian Church who have trusted her with many secrets over the years. So next time you see the Nortons making their way to the choir loft after church has already started, give them a cheery wave "Hello!" Then after church take a moment to thank Charlie for all of the things he does to keep our church beautiful and functioning, and thank Sandy for the silent prayers she has sent to God on your behalf, You Know Who You Are! There is no greater gift on earth than the gift Christ gives us in others, Thanks be the God. The Evangelism Committee NHCC Giving to DMF & Special Offerings Following is a breakdown of New Hope s Contributions to Disciples Mission Fund and Special Offering January through October DMF....$ Easter Offering Pentecost Offering Week of Compassion Reconciliation Blessing Boxes (CWF) Total for Jan.-Oct $ Through our giving we support Home Missions, Overseas Ministries, General ministries, the Oklahoma Regional Church, Disciples Colleges and Seminaries and New Church Ministries.
