2 1. to participate in Christ s ministry of reconciliation in our world. Our Missions Fund provides resources that enable mission around the globe. We send monthly financial support to Emmaus Ministry (Chicago), King s Kids Network (Colombia), Good Shepherd (India), Fishhook (India), DAI (Nepal), Guiding Youth Movement Nepal (Nepal), Norein s retirement/medical fund (a missionary in Cambodia we have supported for decades) and Peter and Liz Anderson (working with Muslim/ Christian dialogue in the US while pursuing MA in Peace Studies at AMBS). We also participate in national Mennonite efforts for education, world mission through evangelism, and relief and development work through Mennonite Church USA. (9010 denominational giving, 9020 mission giving) 2. to participate in Christ s ministry of reconciliation in our neighborhood. We host the Living Works After School Program, which serves the children of Kilmer Elementary School, four afternoons a week in our Meetinghouse. We also support them financially. Our Workforce Development program, funded in partnership with Mennonite Central Committee, provides employment, job training and job

3 placement services to our neighbors (and members of our congregation, see below). We make meeting rooms available to neighborhood groups for community meetings. Our pastors visit non-members and participate as our representatives in several community organizations. Worship Worship is central to our congregation s life. Planning for Sunday morning and afternoon worship services, preparing sermons, conducting weddings, funerals, and other special services require a significant part of our pastors time. Program expenses: music and sound equipment (7080), seasonal decorations for the sanctuary (7050), van expenses so we can bring people to worship (33% of 8095); honoraria for guest preachers (7080); Nepali group (25% 8018); African group/unity Choir (8017) Staff time: Lead pastor (45%), Nepali pastor (25%), African leader (50%)

4 Educating our youth Under the leadership of our youth pastor and Nepali pastor, we have developed an excellent church school and youth programs. Sunday school curriculum materials and other supplies for our morning classes and our afternoon Nepali service, youth ministry expenses for the teen group, guys group, girls group, Nepali teen group, and the expenses of our vacation bible school are included here. Also included are scholarships for our young people to attend retreats and camp programs. Program expenses: Christian education (7090); Summer service workers (80% of 8022 ); Nursery (8040); Youth trips and retreats (8065); VBS (8075); Van (1/3 of 8095); Nepali group (25% 8018) Staff time: Youth pastor (80%); Nepali pastor (25% ) Caring for our church family: We are committed to training and equipping leaders, including sending two new leaders and their mentors to be trained through our denomination s Journey Leadership Training Program, as well as other leadership training resources. Pastoral care is a vital part of our pastors work, especially for persons who are ill, hospitalized, bereaved, preparing for marriage, going through divorce, or facing other crises.

5 Our deacons help people in our community with emergency needs, and this fund supports those among us in crisis. Our office manager and our bookkeeper provide information and other services to members such as the preparation of our weekly announcements, maintaining the church website and FaceBook page, recording and communicating records, accounting for our money, and connecting people to resources. Our Nepali/Bhutanese, Cambodian and East African tribes are also committed to supporting strong community life within the Nepali, Khmer, Swahili and Kirundi speakers of our congregation and both staff time and program resources are dedicated to these needs. The Workforce Development program, funded in partnership with Mennonite Central Committee, provides employment, job training and job placement services to members of our congregation (and community). We are a church that celebrates our life together, building a strong and joyful community through monthly potlucks, block parties, and special celebrations such as Cambodian New Year and Pentecost. 6 (30%); Nepali pastor (25%); African community leader (50%); Church Administrator (70%); Bookkeeper (80% of 5025) Living Water Community Church is called to stewardship: Equipping and Maintaining Our Platform for Mission (Meetinghouse) Our custodian and our property manager keep our Meetinghouse clean and in good order so that we may perform the work that God is calling us do. Our worship spaces, nursery, rooms for meetings, Sunday School and the after school program, and our offices provide the space we need to minister to one another and to our neighbors. In addition to minor repairs, we plan to replace one of our air conditioning units at a cost of $6,000 this coming fiscal year. Our facilities expenses are partially offset by rental income from our tenant, Bubble Express; through leasing several parking spaces; as well as cost sharing contributions from others who use our space throughout the year.

7 Expenses: utilities; insurance (8030); building maintenance (7020); taxes (7047) Staff time: Custodian (5060); property manager (20% of 5030) Repaying our debts: When we purchased our building in 2004, we took on over a million dollars in debt. In the past 14 years, we have repaid $644K, and now owe only about $454K. Praise God! We are committed to faithfully honoring our debts, and positioning our church on solid financial footing for future ministry.
