1 February, March, April 2019 Covenant Courier Inviting all to grow in Christ and serve together in God s love. Covenant Recreation Opportunity Wakefield Nebraska CROWN Our Mission at Covenant: Inviting all to grow in Christ and serve together in God's love. Our Vision: In cooperation with God s Spirit, we hope to see: An environment centered on God s redeeming love where people of all ages, races, and walks of life feel they belong and can grow in their faith A culture of continual growth in our dependence on God where we are honest about our imperfections and support one another through life s ups and downs Disciples engaging with God s Word and living it daily A church that encourages people to get involved and equips them to serve with the abilities God has given them Mission-minded servants sent out to make a difference in our community and our world with the compassion and generosity of Jesus Christ I was in college before I got the chance to work at my first summer camp. I was nothing much more than a cabin counselor, but the impact it made on me changed my life forever. Over the years, through summer after summer, I have worked as a cabin counselor, program director, and a couple of times I have been lucky enough to be a camp director. There is a joy that comes from spending time with kiddos at a summer program, that until you have lived it, you just don't understand. This summer our CROWN Program isn't going to be camp, but I promise it will be campy. Children who sign-up ages 5 yrs. old 6 th grade will have swim days, fun in the sun days, science days, and art days. We will use that big field next to the parsonage to run, jump, and experience all that summer offers. We will be giving families a choice of a safe fun place to help their children make amazing memories. At what is a very affordable price, of a 5 -day pass for $ dollars, or a 10-day pass of $ My sincere hope and prayer is that as a church we would pray that children and families would sign-up by the dozens and that we would be able to provide a fun summer to children all across our town. Pray that we will be successful in attracting those families, and that we could create a program that points others back to Christ.
