6 FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE Wednesday Family Dinner Wednesday night family dinners began in August with a great response of 70 and continues to hold steady serving 65 last week. It is so encouraging to observe the fellowship being enjoyed by so many of our members and friends at midweek. Attendance is almost as many at Wednesday night gathering as on Sunday morning! That speaks volumes about the strength and dedication of FPC in the midst of this transition period. A special thanks to all the chefs and cleanup crews as well as to Beth K. for their time and talent contributions. If you have not yet participated in Wednesday night activities it is not too late. Can you prepare a yummy dish, clean tables or wash dishes? If so, contact Nina Joplin as she is the keeper of the schedules. You WILL be welcomed with enthusiasm! Working together is a great way to create new friendships and to expand the bond with long time friends. Fall Picnic October 16 With fall in the air we turn our attention to the annual Fall Picnic held this year at Somersport just off Pumphouse Rd. We anticipate a good crowd as this is three miles or so from FPC. The City of Somerset is graciously providing two shelters for our enjoyment. Praying the weather is nice and dry and sunshine would be nice too. In other words, just a perfect day in Somerset October 16. In the event of inclement weather we will worship and picnic at Columbia and Vine. Our youth will conduct the morning worship services. Bruce Wilson has graciously agreed, once again, to grill hot dogs and hamburgers for us. I think his grill should be placed permanently at FPC, don't you agree? Please bring a side dish and share your specialty or grab whatever looks food from your favorite grocer. It would be helpful if you would contact me with your side dish selection. Monetary donations are appreciated to help Bruce with the grill expenses. Drinks and paper products will be provided. Looking forward to another great gathering with lots of fun and fellowship as we Presbyterians always have. Invite a friend to worship, eat and mingle with us. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know one another in an informal setting. Wanda
