Seven Model T's and twenty-one Club members and friends gathered at the Albuquerque entrance to Tijeras Canyon (Tramway Blvd. and Central Ave.) for the drive on Old Hwy 66. The plan was to cook the picnic lunch on the way using manifold cookers for stew, beans, and cobbler! The weather was perfect for the drive as it was in the 70's and the leaves on the deciduous trees were just beginning to turn color I want to give a HUGE Thank You to everyone that came this morning to the Balloon Fiesta Lighter Than Air Fair. We had 13 cars and lots of folks. The weather was great, the area they moved us to was perfect. Hope everyone had a good time. Pretty sure you can count on them asking us for next year so put it on your calendar. Thanks again, I really appreciate the support from all of you. We had a great turn out for the Lighter than Air Fair on Oct 2. Thirteen cars and lots of folks. The weather was great and the location where we ended up parking was the best. Watched lots of regular balloons as well as many special shapes. A big Thank You to all that came. Think everyone had a good time, just a bit of a long day. Betty Tn'Vittles at Tim's Place Bernice Young organized the October 15th Tin Lizzies breakfast at Tim's Place, located in a shopping center at Wyoming Blvd and Academy Road in Albuquerque. Tim Harris is a local celebrity and inspirational symbol of achievement for people born with Down Syndrome. Tim attended Eastern New Mexico University and earned certificates in Food Service and in Office Skills. Tim and the Harris family opened Tim's Place in May of The theme of Tim's place is "World's Friendliest Restaurant" with Tim giving hugs to any patrons wishing one. The Tin Lizzies had a fantastic turn out of 35 Club members and friends. There were also 10 T's driven that morning. Tim got a chance to ride in the Dominguez's 1927 touring and the Azevedo's 1921 Faultless Raceabout. From the smile on Tim's face, he had great time seeing our old cars! Salute to Seniors at First Presbyterian First Presbyterian Church downtown celebrated their over 90 year old seniors with a service and celebration that included rides in our Model T s. Thirty-one seniors over the age of 90 celebrated and remembered their own Model T s. After the seniors were done the kids from the churches day care center came old to see the cars. They climbed in front, back and even behind the steering wheel of the cars. It is a toss-up to decide whether the kids or the seniors had a better day. Julie

Meet at the soccer field on the left before the turnoff to the Azevedo s. If you would like to decorate your car, come to Larry and Lorna s before the parade and decorate it there. 6 Dear Members of the Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque, I have been notified by my Elves in Albuquerque, that on Saturday the 3 rd of December you will be having your annual Christmas Holiday Party. It will be tied in with the Corrales Holiday Parade. The party itself (potluck style) will be Elf Larry & Elf Lorna Azevedo s (in the barn) and will commence shortly after the parade. The parade itself 5:30 p.m. but if you wanted to partake in the parade, you would need to be at Larry & Lorna s by 3:30-4:00 p.m. or so in order to have the T s decorated and be at the starting location by 4:30 p.m. For those of you not partaking in the parade you are more than welcome to hang out in the barn until dinner time (around 7:00 p.m. as long as you save some for everyone else). Once the parade is over then the T s will venture on back to the Azevedo s and eat, drink, and be merry and listen to some music and dance. Please respond to Elf Linda with a head count of how many in your party will be enjoying the festivities and what you will be contributing to the potluck dinner. Members are more than welcome to bring what they want to drink and it would be a good idea to bring some folding chairs if you have some. Elf Linda has informed me that donations will be made and accepted for Roadrunner Food Bank. A donation box will be set up for $$ donations and a spot under the tree will available for any non perishable food items. Be sure to mark your calendars for this fun event. Larry has even offered to house your T for the night (might be able to keep the reindeer out) and you can pick it up the next day so that you are not driving home in the dark. Sincerely yours, P.S. remember that I am checking my list...

Unfortunately, Nancy has to step down and Marilyn needs a helper. If interested, please call Marilyn Duncan and talk to her. Larry and Marilyn have put their heads together for a great program for January. It has come to Larry s attention that some members have been able to find supplies for their Model T s locally. If you Have found someone local that can supply parts locally, please your ideas, finds, thoughts or words to Larry Azevedo. Bring these ideas with you to the January meeting and we ll discuss them. After the meeting we will place all of the information in the newsletter so you can access afterward when you need it. What kind of suppliers? Glass, belts, spark plugs, lights, anything you would need to fix your Model T. Do you know that every year when you pay your dues that you need to fill out an application and turn it in also? This is how we keep track of members names, addresses, phone #, s, birth date (you don t have to include the year), anniversary and other important information.
