Conrad, met with the church at Westfield, ln Stokes county, in October last, 1885, and, after examination by prayer and the imposition of hands, set apart Brother N. J. The 106-year-old minister had been seriously ill for a week after several years of declining health. He was ordained a Missionary Baptist minister in 1885 and served churches in North Carolina, Virginia, and Missouri during his years in the active pastorate.
