Mr. Jones was called as pastor of Faith Baptist Church on oute 3, Selma, on March 19. The ordination sermon was delivered by the ev. W. W. Turner. The ev. N.. emchak, pastor of the Crestwood Church, gave the charges to the candidate and to the church. Congregations from Crestwood and Faith Baptist churches were present for the service. Mr. Jones was presented a Bible by C. W. Whitley, chairman of the Crestwood board of deacons. Mr. Jones is the son of Mrs. Walter S. Jones Sr. of oute 4, Smithfield, and the late Mr. Jones. He is married to the former Elsie Peterson of Smithfield and they are the parents of two children, Angela, 11, and Martin, 8. The occasion was in honor of the couple's 24th wedding anniversary and also the eighth anniversary of their service at Faith Baptist Church. Following the morning worship service, lunch was spread in the Fellowship Hall of the church. The honored couple received a special gift from the church members.
