2 LET THE CELEBRATION BEGIN The Church Anniversary/Homecoming Celebration at Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church is the church s most important celebration. It marks the return of families and friends that had moved from Fayetteville and the surrounding areas. It is a time to commemorate the past, reconnect with family, and the passing of rituals and history to younger generations. Today many churches have moved away from the celebration of Homecoming, with the Church Anniversary now serving as the main day for celebrating church history and family relations. Just like Joshua and the children of Israel marked their crossing of the Jordan River with a memorial, we combine our Homecoming and Church Anniversaries into one annual celebration. We use this event to marked the passage of historic events and our progression as a people. Our theme is YOU.BELONG.HERE: Faith, Family, Community, Unity (Ephesians 2:19-22 NLT). Staying with our theme focus, we have planned a Holistic Program for our celebration. There are many events/activities to participate in or attend. This year we are featuring a Homecoming Weekly Quiz on our church s website. This Weekly Quiz was develop to get you acquainted and/or reacquainted with our church history. A new version will post each week. We look forward each year to celebrate how much Our God has done for us. We are indeed a blessed congregation who strive the do the Will of God. Our Primary focus is acting out the Great Commission by One Church, Three Locations. Lastly, this guide was created to highlight the programs/events/activities that are scheduled during our Homecoming2017 Celebration. Please plan to attend and participate in these events/activities.

3 LEWIS CHAPEL GOLF INVITATIONAL 2017 The LC Golf Invitational is approaching. It will provide an opportunity to enhance your golfing skills and reconnect with mother nature. This will be a great fellowship. Bring a good attitude. It is open to everyone on this earth. Invite preachers, members, friends, neighbors, co-workers, spouses and/or significant others. All ages are welcome to participate and show their particular talent. There will be Praise Dancing, Miming, Step Competition, Singing, Cheering and other activities. 5 AFTER WORSHIP ACTIVITIES Our Homecoming celebration continues after the 11:00 AM Worship Services at the John D Fuller, Sr. Recreational Athletics Complex. The complex is 6627 Old Bunce Road, Fayetteville, NC. The After Worship Activities consist of the following events/activities. TASTE OF STATES & NATIONS Ever wanted to Taste food dishes from various parts of America and other Nations. You can satisfy this desire by attending this event. The planning and preparation have been intense. Your palate will be mesmerize by exotic food dishes. COME, TASTE, parts of other STATES & NATIONS. Bon Appѐtit GOSPEL CONCERT Performing at this year s concert will be Rodney Raines & Emmanuel Fellowship, Jared L. Payton & The Voices, Lamaneul Boykin & Company, Chris Johnson & Freedom. Featuring Michelle Prather of The Kurt Carr Singers and Lisa Knowles & The Brown Singers. The concert will 3:00pm. The MC will be Melissa Wade. GAMES/SPORTS/TREATS There will be outdoor activities & treats for all ages. The activities will consist of Corn Hole Toss, Horse Shoe, Kid Train Ride, Kid Bouncer, Volleyball, Dodge Ball, Tug of War, 3 Legged Sack Race, Egg Toss, Snow Cones, Cotton Candy, and Popcorn.
