9 LTC Is an Important Piece of the Puzzle There are many financial consultants and retirement authorities who emphasize the need for a long-term care (LTC) product for estate preservation and family protection. Highest point scored 160 by Lane Kolbe. Special Olympics Manatee County volunteer opportunities for your council to consider. 12 Florida State Council Charity Raffle to Fund State and Local Council Charities The Florida State Council, Knights of Columbus, will conduct a statewide raffle in which the proceeds will go to raise funds for local affiliated councils as well as for Florida K of C Charities, Inc. Raffle books containing 12 raffle tickets each, will be distributed directly to local councils during the month of September. The number of books each council receives will be based on 75% of the council s membership. Suggested donation is $1.00 per ticket. Council member s will collect donations for tickets distributed, the council will give $6.00 per book to Florida K of C Charities, Inc. while retaining the other $6.00 designated for the council s charitable programs. For example, if a council collects donations for 300 books over the 8-month period that the raffle is operating, the council keeps $1,800 and sends $1,800 to K of C Charities, Inc. There are no out-of-pocket costs to the local council. The Florida State Council will handle all the marketing and ticket printing costs, along with putting up the prize money. In addition to the final drawing, there will be two other drawings for the members who are collecting donations, Quick Start and Early Bird drawings will be conducted for ticket book solicitors only. To be eligible for these drawings, ticket book solicitors must return the back cover, the tickets and donations collected by the dates indicated. Councils cannot be named as the solicitor or donor of a ticket. The council can purchase tickets in the name of their parish or in the name of a charity. Only an individual s name can be put on as ticket book solicitor. In Quick Start, one ticket solicitor in each region will win $250 in the drawing to be held during the Mid-year meeting on December 9, Ticket books with backs must be returned by November 25, 2017 with the $6.00 per book to be eligible

13 The Early Bird drawing will take place at the FSC Board meeting on March 10, One winner in each region will be awarded $400. Ticket books with backs must be returned February 22, 2018 with the $6.00 per book to be eligible. Quick Start tickets will be included in the Early Bird drawing. All raffle ticket distribution ends May 6, All tickets, donations and raffle tickets must be in by May 12, Final drawing will be held at the Florida State Council - Annual Convention Dinner, May 26, 2018 in Orlando, Fl.
