I see the feet that walk the path And offers of praise as from lofty hill. I see the hands that serve Him well, The ears that seek to hear His call, The mouth that speaks truth and wisdom, The busy feet that carry the message to all. I see the heart that was pricked and entered When God's man answered the gospel call And yielded His life as a humble servant, A man who is willing, as was Apostle Paul. I see all of this as he stands in the pulpit, An instrument through which God speaks The words of wisdom, of love and peace, To lead and guide all those whom God seeks. -Judy Crowe

2 Page 2 Cold Springs Preschool will be trick or treating throughout the church on Monday, October 31 at 10:45am. If you would like to bring peanut-free candy and hand it out to the children, please indicate on the weekly attendance sheet. Please arrive at 10:30am in the sanctuary and Carol will let you know where to sit for the parade route. If you are not able to attend, but would like to donate peanutfree candy, you can donate the candy in a basket under the mailboxes. Thank you for your support! When sending prayer requests via , please send them to prayer@coldspringsumc.org or submit them via the prayer request form on the church website. This will allow requests to still be sent out even when the church office is closed. COMMUNITY BREAKFAST: October 6:30-10:00 am Please join the UMM and UMW the first Saturday in each month for the Community Breakfast. You will be blessed with great fellowship. Extra help is always welcome! M.Y. Heart's ministry is collecting supplies to make blessing bags for the homeless. These items include such things as pocket Bibles, travel shampoos, conditioners, soap, and other necessities. A green bin is located under the mailboxes in the hallway behind the sanctuary and in the narthex. A list of other items are located on the flyer at these collection bins. We have a wonderful, caring preschool and would love the opportunity to have your 1-5 year old enrolled. A registration form is on our website coldspringsumc.org, then click the preschool tab. Please call and Carol Hendry, the Preschool Director, will be happy to schedule a tour or answer questions.

5 Page 5 The UMM will be feeding the Mt. Pleasant football players, cheerleaders, band, and coaches for the pre-game meal on Friday, October 13. We will need all the help we can get cooking and serving. The meal will be served early so as to have them back for game preparation. Please contact Billy Lylerly if you can assist in any way. Coach Johns has asked for a variety of fruit to be served for dessert after their meal. Fruit can be dropped off in Krimminger Hall started the week of October 8 or beginning at 1pm on October 13. MARK YOUR CALENDARS! October 14 will be CLEAN-UP DAY at church. Everyone is encouraged to participate. We hope to get shrubs trimmed, weeds sprayed/pulled, mulch spread, and any other things we can find to do. Please bring shovels, drop cords, gloves, hedge trimmers, etc. All help is needed and appreciated! In the narthex, you will see an Apple Tree with many apples hanging, ready to be picked! Please pick the apples and return the supply written on the apple to our Preschool as they begin their school year and are needing to stock up on the many necessary items. You may return the items to the narthex or the back hallway by the mailboxes. Your support of our Preschool is very much appreciated!! Thank you! Desserts are needed for the BBQ/ Brunswick Stew sale on Saturday, October 28. If you can provide a dessert (or 2 or 3!), please do! So we may know what to expect, please indicate on your attendance sheet if you will be able to provide dessert. Thanks!

8 Page 8 Mission Opportunity Just a reminder that the Cold Springs Farmers' Market will be held Saturday, October 7th in conjunction with the Community Breakfast. It will be held in the walkway between Krimminger Hall and the church starting at 7:00 am. If you are able to donate produce for sale at the market please contact John or Sue Richert by Friday, October 6th. They can be reached at or at jrichert@ctc.net. Thank you, John & Sue Richert Mt. Pleasant Food Ministry s Current needs: Fruit Juice, Cereal, Powdered Milk, Bread, Dried Beans, & Crackers Non-food items: Laundry Detergent, Shampoo, Face Soap, Toilet Tissue, Deodorant, Toothpaste, Diapers The basket for donations to this food pantry is located in the hall behind the sanctuary beside the church mailboxes. Pack 5 Cub Scouts will hold an open house on Saturday, October 7, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM to introduce boys to Cub Scouting. We will be in the field behind the Church. Come check us out! Cold Springs Annual Trip to the Southern Supreme Fruitcake Factory in Bear Creek AND America s Roadhouse in Asheboro AND Ice Cream in Richfield is planned for Thursday, November 9. The van OR vans will leave the church at 8:00 AM. Please see Barbara Bost ( ) for details and to make your van and lunch reservations.
