In just days we will be remembering and reliving events of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, and n with joyful gratitude will celebrate resurrection of our Savior Jesus on Easter Sunday. These yearly events provide backdrop for everything else we do and remember and celebrate throughout year in church. For as Christians, Holy Week is more than just a time of spiritual nostalgia, it is substance of all we are and believe. Without this week re is no Christian life. Our entire existence PASTOR JOHN STENNFELD Pastor, Christ Luran Church rises and falls with death and resurrection of Jesus. Lose this week in history and we lose our life in eternity. Therefore, events of this week are to be recognized, remembered, honored, and observed by all Christians. Please keep this in mind as you plan out your schedule for days of Holy Week. We have worship on Maundy Thursday (12pm and 7pm), Good Friday (12pm and 7pm), and Easter Sunday (8:15am and 10:45am). Have a blessed month, Pastor John THE R&R GROUP Relaxed & Retired but always Rarin to Go! We will tour and have lunch at Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs on Thursday, April 12th. Please contact each or to arrange car pooling. We will enjoy a box lunch at Lucy grounds around 12 noon and have a guided tour of site around 1 PM. The charge for box lunch is $12.00 per person (lunch is a sandwich bar with fixings, drink & fruit/ chips for $12.00 and this includes tax and tip), re is no charge for tour. Camp Lucy is anor soulful, creative, visionary project by Whit Hanks. We will hear how two buildings (chapels) from Vietnam and roof of Bexar County Courthouse came to rest in Dripping Springs in story behind Camp Lucy. Camp Lucy is located at 3509 Creek Road in Dripping Springs. At light on 290 & 12, continue west on 290 for 4.8 miles to Holder Lane. Turn left on Holder and take Holder until it dead ends at Creek Road, turn left, continue on Creek Road 9/10ths of a mile until you arrive at Camp Lucy entry, on your right. We shipped 20 quilts and 45 pounds of soap to Luran World Relief on April 9th, 2012. The Capitol Zone Spring Rally will be Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Bethany Luran Church at 3701 West Slaughter Lane.

Eunice Guild Service Project AROUND AROUND AROUND EASTER BREAKFAST The youth will host a pancake breakfast on Easter Sunday in fellowship hall of Christ from 9am- 10am. Come enjoy fellowship and food! A free will offering will be received. ANNUAL PICNIC Christ Luran s Congregational Picnic will be held on April 29th after late service on church grounds. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. RUMMAGE SALE The Youth will host a rummage sale at Christ on Saturday, May 5th, from 8am-12noon. Items for sale can be dropped off in fellowship hall starting on Sunday, April 22nd. Please support our youth (and clean out your house at By same time) by bringing your gently used items to Christ for re-sale. For furr information, please contact Pastor John. 11TH ANNUAL CONCORDIA HIGH SCHOOL GOLF SCHOLAR- SHIP SCRAMBLE On May 7, 2012 at Golf Club Star Ranch in Hutto. The funds raised will benefit Scholarship Program at Concordia High School (CHS) for school year. This program helps students and families who qualify for assistance. The scholarship and tuition reduction awards are over $130,000. Without significant gifts, CHS would not be able to minister to many of our 102 students.. Please consider directing your dollars to our own congregation to assist us in both upkeep of our facilities and in furring of our ministry. CONCORDIA HIGH SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE We have been working hard preparing our new campus for next year. We have two dates currently scheduled for open houses. The time is from 5-7 pm, come anytime during this time period for a tour. Our address is: 1500 Royston Lane, Pflugerville. Tuesday, April 3: 5-7 pm- Tuesday, May 1: 5-7 pm In addition to se open house dates, William Schatte will be available every Tuesday and Thursday (at 1500 Royston Lane) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm to give tours. HELP BUILD A HOME On Saturday, April 14, Redeemer Luran Church is sponsoring a day of Thrivent Builds for Habitat for Humanity. Habitat and Thrivent will be building a home in East Austin over eight weeks. Redeemer may have a handful of construction volunteer spots available for April 14 that friends of Christ Luran could fill. Work site construction volunteers must commit to being on build site for a full work day from 8 am - 4 pm, and must be at least 16 and register with Austin Habitat for Humanity. Those age 16 or 17 must be accompanied by an adult volunteer worker age 21 or older. Redeemer would also appreciate volunteer help to serve lunch, as well as donations of food items for lunch. FEED MY LAMBS UPDATE The sack lunch program handed out 73 lunches during month of March in addition to clothing and hygiene packs. We continue to hand out fresh sandwiches on last Friday of each month (this month s date will be April 27th. Please consider donating nonperishable, sack lunch items, personal hygiene items, and clothing items. 5 Loving Service On Fridays in February, we handed out 72 lunches through our Sack Lunch Ministry. In March, Quilters shipped over twenty hand-stitched mission quilts to Luran World Relief after Pastor blessed quilts during worship. The Luran Braille Workers stacked up nine Braille books of 2 Samuel from Bible to add to various books of Bible y have printed over years. In June and August, we are scheduled to send teams to serve at Capital Area Food Bank. April Mission: New Life Children s Center In November R & R Group visited New Life Children s Center in Canyon Lake. This program is part of Luran Social Services of South, and specializes in caring for abused, neglected and troubled JORDAN BOESSLING Minister of Creative Communications & Community Connections girls, ages 11 to 17. On Palm Sunday, April 1 during Kingdom Quest children will make a craft for residents at New Life to remind m of new life Jesus brings us at Easter. If you are led to donate items for center s volunteer services department, please contact Jordan for a list of current needs. Please keep this ministry in your prayers, that residents y serve receive help, healing, and hope from our risen Savior. Kingdom Quest On Palm Sunday, April 1st, we ll have a Large Texas Wheelchair Ramp Project Group lesson about Holy Week and Easter. On Easter Sunday, April 8, Kingdom Quest will not meet. Large Group and Shepherd Groups will meet from April 15 May 27. This spring, we will complete a four year scope and sequence of Old Testament history, Nativity through Life of Jesus according to Gospels, and Early Church. The youth meet in Workshop for Junior and Senior High Youth Bible studies. Easter Egg Hunt This year s Easter Egg Hunt will be on Easter Sunday, April 8, from 9:45-10:15 am. We ll start in main building with a short devotion for families, assign numbers of Easter eggs, and n walk over to backyard of Christ s Workshop for Easter Egg Hunt. Vacation Bible School For third summer By in a row Vacation Bible School will be held on Sunday mornings during Kingdom Quest. At center of every song and station at Amazing Desert Journey will be God s gracious gift of His Son, Jesus. We ll read Bible stories that relate to Lord s Prayer, pray to God as Jesus taught us, and serve ors through mission offerings and projects. Each Sunday will start and end with music and message for all in Kingdom Quest Tree House Room. Children age 3 Grade 5 will participate in VBS activity stations, led by adult volunteers with help from youth Bible study groups. Visual Arts Camp Visual Arts Camp is Tuesday-Friday, July from 9:00 am 12 noon at Christ Luran Church Workshop. Our 2012 program is for children just finishing 2nd-5th grade. They will create major art pieces using 2D and 3D media, make artsy snacks and fun crafts, and have playground time. The cost is $50 per child for supplies.
