2 New Membership Classes will now be held on Sunday, October 21 & 28 after the morning worship service. Pastor Wayne will be leading these classes. The Old Blue Chair Sign Painting Class, Thursday, October 25 at 6:30 pm held in The Gathering Place, First Reformed Church (Class is limited to 25 people) Deadline to sign up is Thursday, October 18 Join us for an evening of food, fellowship and art! You don t need to be an artist to participate in this event. There are many designs to choose from even Christmas designs. To sign up at (go to Facebook and search Old Blue Chair). There will be a Women of Purpose Private Event. You choose your design, pre-pay and sign up all on this sight. This is a non-refundable event but you will be able to use your $$$ at the Old Blue Chair in Leighton at an open class. North Parking Lot update: The north parking lot construction will begin Monday, October 15. Please make sure to park on the south side of the church or along the street during this time. PHASE 2 Pictures: The pictures of the renovation plans are on the church website under the Resources tab at the top of the page. phase-2-sanctuary-remodel/ In case of inclement winter weather the decision to cancel services will be made by 7:30 a.m. for the morning service and 3 p.m. for the evening service. Church meetings will be cancelled if the Lynnville-Sully School cancels classes or is dismissed early for bad weather. Cancellations will be announced on KGRN, KCCI, WHO TV and through our FRC list and now TEXT ALERTS! SIGN UP for TEXT ALERTS on our website at sullyfrc.org on the home page at the bottom of the page. You will then be notified by a text when services are cancelled! Your children can be picked up at 11:30 a.m. each Sunday. An offering will be collected each Sunday. This is a great way to teach kids how to tithe. All kids in Children in Worship downstairs will be led to opening exercises. Sign-up by ing the church office at frcsully@netins.net Church Family Deloris McKeag underwent surgery Wednesday, October 3 to remove part of her colon. She is getting along well. We will know more about test results next Tuesday when she is scheduled to have an appointment with the surgeon. Thanks for the many prayers! Paul Hackert is now at home with a Home Hospice nurse. Paul has a caring bridge site with updates that can be found at paulhackert Christian Sympathy We would like to extend our Christian sympathy to Justin & Jayme Deal and family in the death of Justin's father Bill Deal, age 62, of Rockwell City who passed away on Friday October 5, A Celebration of Life service was held on Friday October 12, 2018 at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. BABY BLESSING BASKET: A baby blessing basket will be out in the Gathering Place for our newest little one, Risa Melianna, daughter of Pavlos & Meggan Vasileiadis. This basket will be set out in April 2019 when the whole family will be here visiting for a few months. Thank you for the prayers, cards, well wishes and flowers in the event of my Dad s passing. It s great to be a part of a church family that surrounds us with their love and support. Gerald & Elaine Droppert Our World Wide Communion Day offering was in the amount of $3,112.
